Along the Plaka, so a bit more expensive than off the beaten track, this place is great for Greek food in a wonderful location. Had mixed grill for 3 that fed 4 with room to spare. Great lamb, pork, chicken and a beef burger, all of which were cooked to perfection. House white wine was great for the price. If... More

Great location, which is why they have business...it is made up of unsuspecting tourists...their hawker gives you a 15% off coupon as you walk by...we didn't use it that night, but went by the next as it was a 3 minute walk from our hotel. Servers are a bit apathetic, but not rude. We ordered the chicken souvlaki, which was... More

We sat here and had a coffee and a snack on our stop from our cruise. It's not great but it's standard tourist fare, so you have to know what you are getting into. The salad was fine with fresh produce and the baklava was also very good. Service was what I expect in touristy areas but the waiter was... More

Sat outside watching the many people walking by. Cafe had a misting system for the hot weather. Service ok, like most places visited here bread not asked for but delivered and then a fee for it at the end. My fish was fresh and cooked well. Cash only here but there is an ATM not far away.

Im currently sitting here and the waiter in order to make us to choose this place lied to us that he has what he doesnt have. We ordered coffee but again we received the wrong order. Not mentioning that waiting time is too long for this location, price, promotion and type of service. Only positive thing is atmosphere from the... More

I sure wish we would be have read the reviews before eating here. Much like other reviewers, it was a hot afternoon and we were in search of a cold beer and lunch. The food was good. Not great, but reasonable. Then we got the bill. 85 euros for 4 small Greek salads, 2 gyros, grilled octopus and grape leaves.... More

Excellent food! We love the chicken soup, spaghetti and the lamb. Free wifi is good though it is slow when there are more customers. Definitely coming back if revisit this place.

A beer, greek salad, ocotopus and calamari at lunch time kept us going until the next day. It was a good job we didn't have a desert we were absolutely bloated. Free wifi with the meal.

We were lured in by a friendly hostess who boasted "the best food here, if you don't like it -- you don't pay". BEWARE. Not only is this a lie, they don't take credit cards and are extremely rude. I wish I had read previous reviews before eating here, however it was a hot day sight seeing - we were... More

We had lunch. Mythos beer and mixed Greek appetizer. The sausage was amazing. Did not like the fish roe. Spicy pie very good.

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
