This place is a Starbucks on steroids. You walk in and the view and smell of pastries is overwhelming. Not only did we eat there but ended up taking a box back to the hotel.

We visited this place two times. The first one was to have dinner. The food is very well prepared and tasty. Considering it's a patisserie, they're very competent. Also, everyone's polite and welcoming. So much that they had us to come back a second time and try a coffee and some Greek donuts I can't remember the name but I... More

A suitable place for resting, a place for afternoon tea and coffee, beside of sweets and cookies, local halvah. We had a nice, peaceful hour there.

We were looking for some delicious freshly baked pastries and this was it! I had the round pastry with ham and Gouda cheese inside, so yummy. The crust was really buttery and flaky.

I found three locations of Beneth in central Athens. The one in Omonoia Square is a café with seating. The two in Monastiraki are called "Beneth Food Hall" and do not have seating. But outside the location on Monistiraki Square there are benches and low walls where people sit and eat. For lunch I had a chicken sandwich with a... More

Get the baklava! They have the best here! Also, the cappuccinos are some of the best I've ever tasted. My wife ordered a freshly squeezed orange and carrot juice that was also very good and cheap! This is such a cool cafe with tons of pastries and sandwiches too. Definitely a great place to stop for a bite to eat... More

Me and the wife have used this place on many occasions. It is a clean place where the food is freshly prepared. I know that it is perhaps a little expensive, but a good place to eat and drink

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
