We had a table on the terrace with the best view to Acropolis and Herodium ever. Food was tasty, service friendly and the prizes reasonable.

We went here yesterday evening to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. We reserved a table with Acropolis view (e-mail them more than a week before to make a reservation, even during the week!) and received a table at one of the best spots of the restaurant. Even though it was quite chilly outside, it was nice and warm on the terrace.... More

Normally the view would take your breath away but the food is so good that you turn to your plate eventually. We usually visit at the rush hour so service can be a little slow, more time for you to admire the Acropolis.

Found this restaurant on Yelp. It is just off the main road. The location seems odd at first as you have to climb stairs to the rooftop restaurant through what looks like an apartment complex. Once you are there, you are greeted with the BEST view of the Acropolis. The service and food was phenomenal. The Greek salad was the... More

our tour guide recommended this restaurant as a place where real Greeks go, but with a beautiful view of the Acropolis, facing the Parthenon. I'm not sure this is entirely true as I heard a lot of English and German, but there were also Greeks the view is outstanding, on the roof of a small building. there's an outdoor dining... More

You can see the Parthenon as you eat. I had Mousakka and my wife had lamb. Both were great entrées. The feta cheese with figs was a great appetizer also. But save room for the desserts! They were rich and they were wonderful. This is a handy restaurant with a great view.

Having a great dinner looking at the illuminated Parthenon and served by a very committed team leaded by a scrupulous and attentive boss was a great experience. In summer both terraces are opened and you may have an overall view on Athens, aorista thea!

Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighbourhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianised Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centrepiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
