This is a greek taverna, a casual eatery, where you can taste traditional greek food, especially meat. Pork stakes, bifteki (burgers) and sausages are some of the most popular dishes. The atmosphere is nothing special but nice. You certainly feel comfortable, as it is a spacious place. I mostly like it in the summer because you can be served outside.... More

We have visited this place again recently. The place has been renovated and the food tasted great. The service was excellent and the prices reasonable. We will definitely visit again.

A traditional greek style tavern. Great for meat lovers but you could find salads and dishes for a vegetarian (not recommended)

We stopped here by chance and went back four times!! good old-fashioned grub served in a a VERY rustic manner, but it all adds to the allure. Nice lighting, lively atmosphere, NO MENUS IN ENGLISH! again, it all adds to the allure of this place. Everyone was lovely to us, on one visit they gave us one of the containers... More

We were recommended this restaurant by a waitor at another cafe, and he was right. It was faboulous. Local greek food with superb tastes. We had a delicious moussaka, a tender chicken souvlaki and a mixed grill plate that came on a sheet of paper. We were served rosé wine, cola to the girls. As a stater we had chick... More

This time our children were with us and they were very excided with the food and the fact that you eat on a piece of paper. The food was fresh very well cooked. Nice atmosphere with good pricing.... I visited with a few friends and the truth is that apart from the french fries nothing else was edible. Frozen food, food from can, very bad cooking and really low quality of ingredients probably to keep the prices low. Finally i am happy i didn't got sick as cheese in a dish with eggplant tasted like it was rotten.... More

The restaurants is full of local people and just by looking at the other tables everything looks delicious. Traditional food and tasty dishes, familiar atmosphere and easy going ( the kebab and grilled meat is served with french fries on a paper dish). Staying in Pangrati

Neighbourhood Profile
The elongated Panathenaic Stadium, built for the first modern Olympic Games in 1896, acts as grand gateway to the otherwise purely Athenian neighborhood of Pangrati. This area of typical small squares, busy main roads and residential streets will give you a clear sense of what living in this metropolis is like. A walk up quiet Markou Mousourou Street on the west side of the stadium will bring you past the First National Cemetery to Mets, home to many expats. Turn right to reach the charming Platia Varnava. East of the stadium, commercial Eratosthenous Street leads to rather nondescript Platia Plastira, from where Effranoros Street continues uphill to Platia Profiti Ilia, crowned by a huge church. Among the standard four- to six-story apartment blocks that typify Athens, Pangrati also boasts some genuinely authentic tavernas and the odd trendy bar.
