This restaurant is simple with good ambiance and excellent service. It is known for its cuts, mainly beef cuts and really worth the visit. T

For meat lovers only, who don't care about decoration, cuttlery and the rest... This place serves the best non-premium (i.e. not wagyu, black-angus, kobe...etc) meat I've ever had!! I often think to my self, how would these guys work on a piece of premium beef, when they reach excellence with common beef and the most popular cuts (t-bone and ribeye)?... More

Once more there and no surprises. The best steak in Athens (for years),so tasty though raw material is Greek. Same gloomy environment inside(need to fix it guys)though garden is better. Descent wine and service, boring desserts. Excellent value for money(30 euros per person and you eat a lot). Again:the best steak in Athens.

Not only they serve the best meat in Athens- Attica area, but they know how to cook it! The Greek rib eye that Nikos selects and dryes is the best you can find. If you enjoy a big stake order an xxl which comes at 1kg . Nikos also wnows how to cook a rare stake which is difficult because... More

Owners are great people and very kind hosts. The food is addictive. Start with a greek salad and wild greens. Continue with a carpaccio (it's not in the menu, so ask the waiter) to taste the great quality of meat that they serve. And then it's the kidneys!!! Grilled to perfection and caramelized in a way that takes you to... More

If you are thinking of enjoying some really good meat around Athens this is a place for it. Try to visit in summer and enjoy the nice yard. Ask for lamp chops, kiloto and rib eye. All deli.

We were really skeptical after reading some bad reviews in here. But it was a nice chance to pay a visit under a discount offer which lasted about a week, for numerous restaurants in Athens. Kritikos had a fixed menu with a starter, a salad, a main dish and a sweet, for 20 euros. We had spinach pie and tyrokafteri... More

Best steaks and t-bones i`ve ever had, and i`m not a fan of rare-medium roasted meats. But this one simply stands out by far from all other tavernas. In the summer it must be even better with the veranda outside. HIGHLY RECCOMENDED!!!

Staying in Monastiraki

Neighbourhood Profile
Monastiraki is a souvenir-hunting enclave with a difference. Apart from the dramatic backdrop of the Acropolis, its network of alleys and pedestrianized streets surround the remains of both the Greek and Roman agoras, adding the quaint concept that this is where the ancients also came to shop. Named after the tiny monastery church at its center, Monastiraki Square is a lively spot by day or night, with street peddlers vying for your attention to sell you nuts and sweets. Down beside the metro station, the official Flea Market is an unbroken row of souvenir shops until you come to antique-oriented Platia Avissinias, while Pandrossou Street on the other side of the square offers more tourist shopping. The pedestrianized street beside the Greek Agora is lined with cafés offering fine views.
