One of the many restaurants for tourists found in Old Chania, maybe not one the best but certainly not one of the worst. A few people on the terrace when we went there but nobody but us "inside" (inside is really just another terrace as it's an empty building with no roof ! -see photo). Service was relatively quick and... More

Chania is the oldest town in Europe. 4,000 years old. Having visited Knossos back in 1972 this was a must. A wonderful place where history of past peoples seep out of very brick and stone. But when 'rubber-necking' it is essential to find a good place to rest have a drink and eat lunch. Rising up into the old town... More

Had a great lunch here. All the food was tasty and very well cooked. Loved the open air feel without the noise of being on the street.

Visited this place again for lunch after going there a couple of times in 2014. Split into two parts outside ( restaurant/bar) on the corner of a fairly quiet back street away from the bustling (and expensive) harbour area, we had a couple of Mythos beers followed by a meze for two. The meze, served in the outside 'bar' area,... More

we'd passed this fairly large restaurant during the day and it looked lovely. there are street table, but inside the building is open roofed. apparently the building was gutted by fire. instead of replacing the roof and rebuilding, they have installed a canopy roof that can be open or closed and have stripped the walls to bare brick and fitted... Stumbled across this taverna while looking for lunch. Broke our usual rule of avoiding easy offers and glad we did so. The food was good, came in good time and enjoyable. The atmosphere improved as more guests came in, the old "soap" factory ruins worked well with its open air feeling. And finally the lavatories were clean.

We had a meal as a couple in this restaurant. We were very impressed for extraordinary decoration in the old building with open air. Food was also good and not overpriced with friendly staff...

Four of us had lunch with drinks and honestly couldn't fault anything. We ate "inside" and were impressed by the beautiful old building and it's atmosphere. The staff were friendly and the prices comparable to other restaurants. It is unlikely we would return to Chania as the airport was frighteningly chaotic but if we did, this would be the first...
