My wife and I came here twice while we were in Heraklion. The baked/grilled bread is amazing with a hint of chargrilled meat. My wife loved the lamb with risottos. I, on the other hand, had decent main course. Overall the food and atmosphere was...More

A multi level sala restaurant, cosi, friendly and luxurious . Great food, rather meat food than fish food. Porcelain plates, fine crystal glasses. Fine dining, low light environment, very good service. A must visit for sure.

I sat at the bar by the window and enjoyed people watching with my meal. The dolmas were warm and perfect, the boiled greens also perfect, salty-fatty-crunchy pork belly, and grilled octopus. P aired it with the Parasties white wine and finished the meal with...More

Undoubtedly the worst meal we have had on our 3 week trip in Greece. The service was unconcerned and at times unfriendly, that was after you got some service after trying to get their attention for some time. The food was even worse, the pasta...More

Nice environment, food is still good (although, some dishes were not as good, such as the side of the pork stake which were only one slice eggplant and one slice zucchini, or the trachanotto which was delicious but was swimming in a pool of oil)....More

Have been visited Parasties many times, mostly for dinner. This a a great place with excellent dishes - mostly Cretan and Mediterranean. Steaks and most of the meat dishes are delicious. Great salads and appetizers. You can also find excellent wines with your meal. Great...More

Bit hit n'miss. Maybe it was because we didn't arrive until 22:00? Maybe we didn't interpret the helpful server's descriptions correctly? But when a traditional slowly-cooked Cretan casserole comprises a one-inch thick slab of fat with a slither of beef plus an equally scraggy boned...More

Dining here, the atmosphere is like being in a typical Greek village. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal, Cretan dishes galore - simple, very flavoursome and can't pick one above the other.

With help from waiter settled on the special fish, which was sauteed bass fillets in an orange sauce. Had some grilled mushrooms to go with. Both dishes superb, a carafe of wine, water and bread + the standard complimentary dessert and raki left me feeling...More

Description
An atmospheric, cozy place and of the most popular gourmet hangouts of Heraklion, since 2000. All these years 'Parasies' -as was the original name of the restaurant- has been opening its doors to foodies in a smaller, intimate and beloved place. Our desire and goal is to combine classic nostalgic flavors and special blends even at the simplest dishes so that we can please every taste. It is a daily challenge and a great honor for us, when guests, as we like to call our customers, recognize and appreciate our culinary philosophy. The quality food, the finest wine labels and a coordinated team, make sure you feel comfortable while enjoying scents, flavors and authentic recipes and offer you and your guests an ideal suggestion for quiet lunches and lively dinners. *According to the Cretan dialect parastia or parasia has been the traditional way of cooking in Crete for many years. A fire was set between two parallel rectangular stones and a cooking pan was put above. Thus 'parasia' was selected as the name of the restaurant, where the open kitchen dominates as a trademark.
