Burnt eggplant in my moussaka - the worst I've had in Greece. Rotten grapes for dessert. Lamb roast and chicken skewer were nice and tasty. No olive oil, butter, or anything for dry tasteless bread. Water never refilled. We were here with G.O.Tours included lunch. Nice clean W.C. big airy restaurant with nice view. Why do they give anyone rotten... More

Our tour group stopped here after visiting Epidaurus and a short stop at Nafplio. The food was very good, and servings generous: we had moussaka, lamb that was cooked just right, fried potatoes and Greek salad, plus grapes for desert. Although we were with a tour group I didn't feel rushed and the servers repeatedly returned to our table with... More

After a hike through the Mycenae ruins, the King Menelaos was a good choice to rest a little and recharge. We had lamb (nicely prepared and spiced), moussaka (very good), fried potatoes (surprise) and a decent Greek salad. The price was reasonable and the service friendly and efficient.

Good food, good choice, not too expensive, pleasant surroundings. A good place to eat. Watch out for the owner, he's a real character. Highly recommended.

“King Menelaos” restaurant was our lunch stop. The background was breathtaking with the mountains of Argolida. I loved the cactus plants and fir trees around the restaurant. The interior had an oversized wall plague of the lions from the “Lion’s Gate” with the title “King Menelaos”. Oleanders and Judas trees lines the streets of a quiet modern Mycenae. Several houses... An Athenian friend was driving my wife and me around the Argolid on a casual Friday afternoon. He had heard of Menelaos and we decided to stop in. We were greeted warmly, as is typical of Greek eateries. But the service turned out to be exceptional. My wife ordered the chicken souvlaki, I had the lamb with chips, and we... More

Our tour stopped here, and this restaurant seems to be on the bus route; there was a large dining area and another bus had already stopped and passengers were being served. The dining area was outdoors but covered-- really pleasant on this beautiful day. The menu wasn't extensive, which I'm sure helps the kitchen get the food out more quickly.... More

The King Menelaos Restaurant serves typical Greek style food. It also caters for tourist and bus groups, like ourselves, making it a convenient and relatively quick lunch stop. At the time of writing, they provided us with a 3 course menu for 12 Euro. A choice of either a Moussaka or Roasted veal for mains, a Greek Salad and a... More
