You have to go here more than once! Hands down our favorite restaurant and food from our visit, nothing else compares (Lime and Chili is amazing, but Kaage tops it!) The service is absolutely wonderful. Yayu is absolutely amazing, and made sure we tried every dish, and even knew what we would enjoy. Her education on the culture is outstanding, and was there to answer every question we had. Thank you so much to her, as well as Ashraf! Ashraf did some good magic tricks for us to finish off our meal and give us a good laugh 😆
The food left us speechless. We came for dinner previously, and lunch the following day because we needed it again. I recommend you allow your waiter/waitress to guide you through the menu and bring you items based on their recommendations. Everything is amazing here, and I suggest you try everything, even if you’re hesitant. The mackerel is by far our favorite main dish, and every starter we had was outstanding. I honestly can’t describe how delicious the food here is, you must try it to understand!
Thank you Varu for giving us the experience to try a traditional Maldivian cuisine! It was amazing, and we are sad knowing we cannot have it back at home!

What an amazing evening we had. We were welcomed by such friendly staff with a tropical passion fruit drink and roped up in an traditional Maldivian dress. Before being escorted to our dining table for the night, we were invited to watch a 7 minute film documentary to learn more about the Maldivian food culture.
The food was just implacable and the flavours exploded in your mouth the minute they touched your tongue. Our friendly Maldivian waiter Hilol was very attentive and made sure our needs were met within seconds. He took us on a culinary food journey, I won’t forget anytime soon.
Highly recommendable dining experience if you are on the lookout for something special.

This was our first time trying Maldivian cuisine. The staff was very informative about each dish and allowed us to experience a variety of options. The food tasted amazing and the service was exceptional. Highly recommend stopping by this restaurant during your stay at Varu.

Kaage was the restaurant I was most excited to try while at Varu and I wasn't disappointed! I love that there's an authentic Maldivian restaurant at the resort since we enjoy trying new cuisines when we travel, and there aren't many places back home that serve Maldivian food, if at all!
The dinner started with a warm welcome and quick overview of the restaurant. We were able to watch a quick video of the history of the Maldives, which we enjoyed. Yayu, Hillol, Karun, and the entire staff were amazing. We also met a petite Maldivian woman who was a joy to talk with and gave us the friendliest service. Unfortunately I'm completely forgetting her name and I apologize!
The food was all delicious from start to finish! My fiance enjoyed all of the seafood and I enjoyed the steak and spring rolls. We allowed the staff to offer suggestions for our meals as well as drinks and they didnt steer us wrong.

This was our first trip to Maldives and definitely the first time we try Maldivian cuisine. We were first greeted with coconut/passion fruit mix drink which was very refreshing and delicious (keep in mind I dont like coconut) and we were then dressed in traditional Maldivian clothe and escorted to watch a short film about Maldives history and cuisine. The menu had variety of starters, main courses and dessert. The staff (which were very friendly and spoke good english) chose for us the food which was amazing!!
The presentation of the food was very good and appealing and the taste was just as good.
We didnt get a chance to try the dessert since we were already full.
I wish I took pictures to share the food, but it is definitely worth trying and the experience was really good!!!

The ambiance and the vibe of this place was absolutely amazing! The staff makes you feel so comfortable, the food represents a wonderful take on the traditional Maldivian cuisine. Our experience here was just amazing. There is also a short video guide of history of Maldives and its cuisine at the restaurant! I definitely recommend everyone who comes to this resort to give this restaurant a try, it will be completely worth it!

Being a vegetarian, I had my own inhibitions of the food options there. However I am more than satisfied with the service and the food served. Chiki (our hostess) had made sure that we were well informed of all our food options and explained the ingredients and cooking process in a relatable and easy manner. Her knowledge of Indian cuisine helped us understand what we were in treat for. Food was phenomenal. Right from the starter it was there was a dish to be discarded. We are more then satisfied with the experience. Kudos to the team @Kaage

This was our first time trying Maldivian food. The staff started off with a refreshing drink (passion fruit, orange juice, tropical mix of fruit) then a quick video of the history of the Maldives. Then we were taken to our seats where we exclaimed that this was our first time trying Maldivian food. Our wait staff gently explained the appetizers, entree and dessert menu. Before my wife and I overwhelmed ourselves with the choices she recommended a full 3 course meal for us and omg I was amazing. From the introductory "chips" (one of them was a spicy fried fish chip) to the 3 entrees (Angus beef, tuna, mackerel) to the dessert sampler, everything was amazing!
I would definitely recommend Kaage to anyone who wants to try genuine Maldivian food.

We had an amazing time. The food was extraordinary and service impeccable. We left nothing on our plates. Portions are perfect size.
The combination of tastes and textures is amazing and like nothing we have ever had before.
Service deserves a separate compliment!
Our waiter was Sameer, a young man who was super professional, charming and sweet, and with a lot of passion for the Maldives and the Maldivian dishes which their chef does with such excellence.
We will definitely come back and recommend it to everyone.

One of a kind experience, if you want to try authentic Maldivian cuisine then I would strongly suggest you drop by to this restaurant. Everyone from the service team to the chef made it a special evening and to taste flavours that I had not experienced before.

The food was spectacular and the service ( specially moosa ) was amazing.
They explained all the dishes and the chef himself came to introduce himself to us and he explained what the main dishes are. My husband and I loved everything.
I highly recommend the restaurant to everyone visiting the resort to try the restaurant.

We had a wonderful lunch with delicious Maldivian taste. Though most of the variety on the menu is of non vegetarian the staff cooked pure vegetarian food for us. From starter to desert all the Maldivian dishes are a must try. I must say it was a lifetime experience.

We ate here twice in our 10 day stay and both times were amazing. the food is local Maldivian food with a progressive, contemporary style, excellent layers of flavours superbly presented. the tasting menu with a complimenting wine course is recommended.
from arrival and the opening greeting through to booking a buggy to leave the staff are faultless. they are enthusiastic, knowledgable and clearly very proud of where they work.
Front of House, Cheki, Yayu, Alisha and Chef Negi are definitely masters of their trades and go out of their way to make sure your visit to the restaurant is memorable.

A heaven on earth restaurant!
Me and my Husband loved the food variety starting from appetizers, soup, various main dishes and the delicious desserts. It’s been a while since I ate fresh tuna meat that is super delicious and fluffy.
The staff is super professional and friendly, they give explanation for each plate and tells you the story behind it.
