Djuret is a confusing restaurant. I liked the food for most parts, and I would consider it at least as close to fine dining. But the service? Sloppy, plates thrown on the table, wines poured too fast without introductions (wine package), so very casual bistro...More

This restaurant was suggested by the concierge at the Sheraton. It's behind the Opera House and "less touristy". We went there for lunch, on some jet lag. We ate inside as the tables outside were full. It took a bit to get service but we...More

We were a bit dissapointed with the quality of the food at Djuret. A couple of the dishes from the four course set menu were heavily over-salted and drowned in unnecessary sauce. The plating also lacked attention and the dishes looked flat and uninteresting as...More

Undercooked fish wrapped in seaweed sous-vide and served with lard was one of the many lowlights of the pretentious tasting menu. The staff was great but whoever designed the menu on the night we visited was trying too hard to be special.

I loved the place. Majority of patrons seem to be foreign tourists in a search for authentic Swedish dishes and therefore ordering the same thing: meatballs with mashed potatoes and an assortment of pickled herring, which is exactly what I ordered and I loved it....More

Modern nordic ingredient based cooking with a traditional twist. Has one of the best wine lists in Sweden with reasonable mark ups, some wines are cheaper here than in the international auctions.

... but not much else reminds of the good old "Lejontornet". The composed menu (4 courses) is basically the 6 course menu without cheese and desert. So it is too much food and too little sweets. The quality of the food is acceptable but not...More

A very cosy kind of a hunting cabin style. We had the big meny, (charcuteries as starter and loved the ox top round, 4 main courses, cheese and desert). All very well done with the rubbed avocado, the fish and the tenderloin clear favorites. $90...More

Excellent little restaurant right next to the Opera House. We had the herring sampler (herring prepared 4 different ways), Swedish meatballs and, because it was Thursday, the Mackerel special. All of them were excellent and the service too. Inside, it is quite small - perhaps...More

Definitly one of the best restaurants we visited while in Stockholm. Located behind the Operahouse, this restaurants has a limited amount of tables. Except when the weather is nice because then the terras is open (in our case). The food is very, very good. Nice...More

Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home
to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central
island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small
island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous
Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit
touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting:
take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and
through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest)

Description
Djuret is Leijontornets bistro. At Djuret we serve one animal at the time. We concider this to be the most sustainable way to work with the slaughtered animal both from an organic perspective but also out of respect to the animal in question. The whole menu consists of different meat paragraphs from the same animal. These are prepared with a lot of love on the grill, halster or in a pot and then served in a rustik way.
