Communal tables seem to be ”in” as many restaurants in Stockholm have them nowdays – so does Rutabaga. So, be prepared to be seated next to strangers – although they have some tables for two as well. They have two options of the tasting menu,...More

To begin with no-one in The Grand Hotel seemed interested directing us to the restaurant. The concierge was more interested ogling a group of girls and merely pointed left. Another member of staff didn't know the restaurant (!) but we eventually stumbled upon it. We were...More

Have a seat in this wonderful restaurant and let you seduce from the great vegi creativity of the chef. The menu is fix (big and small) as for the beverage pairing. The taste, the service and the atmosphere are simply great. The price quality rating...More

This vegetarian restaurant is a must. We opted for the shorter menu, four main courses plus snacks and desert. The deep fried artichoke hearts with charcoal reduction and almonds was a favorite but the cardamom Eggplant was equally delicious. The bread was a seeded baguette...More

In Stockholm for business so eating alone. Was recommended to Rutabaga by American Express. Was given a small but comfortable table in this modern vegetarian restaurant. They only serve taster menus, two vegan and two vegetarian. I went for the smaller of the two vegan....More

The food is delicious, but the service was AWFUL! Our server brought us the individual portions - not sharing portions - of each dish. We told her we thought we got the wrong size, and she offered to bring us two more individual portions (we...More

Description
Matsalen is a modern gastronomic restaurant. Our cuisine is based on using the best fresh produce available here and now in Sweden and other parts of the world, spiced with curiosity and inspiration from everything we encounter. "The natural cuisine" is a menu that changes with nature and the seasons. We pair wine, beer and other beverages with each of the dishes we create. All the producers we work with are meticulously selected, they produce something we like. Our menu and drink offering - like the fresh produce - are living and change with the time of the year.
