Very poor experience with staff. Rude behaviour and outright discourteous. Avoid. We walked away fortunately and had excellent thai food nearby with great service

Cosy authentic but a little crowded Indian restaurant close to trendy SoFo in Stockholm. Worth the walk as they have the best tasty food.

I ate the Tandoori chicken, which came sizzling out of the oven. The chicken was served with a very tasty masala sauce, rice, salad and a melon slice. I really loved the variety of tastes: the spicy chicken, the baked vegetables, the masala sauce vs the lightness of the melon, salad and chutney. The naan bread was a tasty side... More

Recently I visited Shanti Touch of Bengal in Stockholm and absolutely loved the place. When I went to this restaurant at Katarina Bangata I was disappointed. The menu were very similar and I had exactly the same dish, however it tasted nothing like what I had on the Shanti Touch of Bengal, not even close. The restaurant lacked soul and... More

Excellent food, many sensations, could not be better. Ate a set with several dishes. My husband had the Ayurveda plate. Fantastique small dish.

Food excellent. I think there is a recent owner change as service has really decreased lately. We had to wait for service and worst of all..we waited for one hour to pay before we left and paid ourselves on the way out.

I think this is the first Shanti restaurant that opened in Stockholm and I would have expected something better but I was very disappointed. The service was very fast but waiters seemed wanted the guests to eat (and leave) as soon as possible to make space for the next ones. The quality of my meat (lamb) was not great: chewy... More

From where I should start everything was classy and aristocate. The food was very good. Very nice and enjoyable.

We went here yesterday and they were so kind to us and helped us with everything we asked for. The food was really really good and it couldn't have been better. It is a very popular restaurant, so be in time or book a table. We will absolutely come back!

After a whole week of just seafood. We decided to give Shanti a try. Absolutely stunning place with chic interiors serving authentic Indian food. The waiters were very gentle and caring. I don't think there was a downside to our visit to Shanti. Side Notes: 1) If you're into hot stuff, then try their spicy chicken kebab. 2) Their other... More

Staying in SoFo & Medborgarplatsen

Neighbourhood Profile
SoFo & Medborgarplatsen
Throughout the last decades these neighborhoods transformed from a rather quiet residential area into the birthplace of Swedish hipsterism and became Sweden’s main hub for new fashion labels, independent coffee shops and innovative gastropub concepts. Despite their extreme transformation, SoFo (South of Folkungagatan) & Medborgarplatsen managed to hold on to their residential charm and quietness and became one of the most sought-after places to live among young people in Stockholm. This neighborhood is also home to Sweden’s highest student hall, Skrapan, which used to be the head office of the tax authorities and now combines a mix of student hall and shopping mall with a bar on top.
