In the middle of absolutely no where... In a place you can not get to without hours of driving and then riding a rudimentary "ferry", an absolutely five star restaurant with the best food in Madagascar....Totally amazing

It is really rare that a very positive description in a guidebook is topped. We ate at Mad Zebu twice (on the way to and back from the Tsingy) and both were excellent experiences. The Zebu in red wine sauce might have been the best meat I have ever eaten. It was incredible. The staff is friendly and service quick.... More

Yes, Richard Adams, the Hitchhiker CAN find a restaurant at the end of the universe and it's in Belo Tsiribihina, a remote town on the west coast of Madagascar. The experience of Mad Zebu ('Mad' for 'Madagascar' and 'Zebu' for the traditional breed of cattle herded by the Malagasy) is like no other - after a long, a bone-jarring dirt... More

We stopped here for a very early lunch and the restaurant was very accommodating. There was no indication in the decor or the location that would lead you to expect getting some of the best food in Madagascar. The food was delicious and so attractively presented. I am not sure how they can serve such amazing food when they are... More

Other tourist recommended the Mad Zebu to us and we were delighted. Not only does is taste very good but the food looks amazing too. Best stop for an long lunch or cosy diner. They have a 'real' toilet wich is nice.

En route for the Tsingys, hours up a dirt track and across a river, hours more to go, we had a feast in comfort and splendour in this great restaurant. Lovely to sit outside and watch the world go by. Food wonderful.

Perhaps it was the before&after that made it seem so great when we dined there twice going and coming from the Grand Tsings Park (fantastic in itself) traveling in a convoy of 4-wheel drive vehicles needed for the un-maintained dirt-roads and then just having crosses (or about to re-cross) the nearby river on the strangest -- most dangerous --4-jeep barges,... What an astonishment and a relief to find such delicious food in this small dusty town after more than 10 hours of driving on terrible dirt roads. Excellent french style gastronomy nicely presented. Great prawns and fish. Also excellent deserts.

I ate here twice, to and from Morandava-Bekopaka. The menu was the same and felt for lunch the entrees were quite heavy so I ordered the tomato/shrimp salad both times for lunch. I got a banana flambe type of dessert the second time and wasn't too impressed. But then again, desserts in Madagascar haven't always been the greatest. Lots of... More

Haut cuisine restaurant in Belo/Tsibirinha, dusty town in the middle of nowhere (but on the way to Tsingy de Bemaraha). The food was really good, and nicely decorated, and desserts were delicious. The prices are also O.K,, for a menu it is around 10 €, maybe not the cheapest in Mada but well worth it :)
