While kayaking Isafjordur, a local told my wife and I we could not leave town without dining at Tjoruhusid. Glad we paid attention. Dinner was a bit late, because the fresh catch boat was just pulling in from sea (yeah, that fresh). The preparation was perfect, and the meal one of the best we had ever eaten. But pair that... Our Journey finally arrived to Isafjordur, one of the most awaited leg of our tripi in Iceland. According to tripadvisor review we had our lunch in this restaurant. Simply Amazing, the buffet is very rich and the staff was really kind. The chef, prepared a dedicated gluten free fish-frying pan for me (Halibut and other fishes). The price is the... More

This is the best fish I've ever eaten and one of the top three meals I've ever had. I'm not kidding. It's an All You Can Eat kind of thing. You pay and keep going up until you're full. They keep making delicious dishes in giant skillets. It's absolutely amazing.

Tjöruhúsið is my favorite fish restaurant. In the old town museum buildings it offers catch of the day of great value and variety every night during the summer season. Great food.

My friend and I ate here the night we stayed in Isafjordur during our Icelandic roadtrip. We chose this place because the reviews were great and we were not disappointed! The restaurant is family owned, and it's buffet style, with so many great options. We had different kinds of fish, sides, and salad. Also, the place itself is super cute... More

Its quite simple, if you are in Isafjordur you have to try this place as its quite possibly the best seafood restaurant in Iceland.

I would go to Iceland again just for this restaurant! It should be a must on everyones trip to Iceland. It was fun to be able to meet and talk to others at dinner because they were picnic style tables.

We were recommended to eat here by our hotel owner some 2 hours' drive away. We are not massive fish eaters and were somewhat shocked by the prices of eating out in Iceland but thought we'd have to give this place a go. It was amazing - especially the fish dishes in caper butter sauce and sweet chili sauce. I... More
