I'm not a hotdog fan but we thought we'd check it out since it got some good reviews. But my husband and i were disappointed in the hot dog and thought it was overrated. I wouldn't bother visiting unless you are a big hot dog fan

Famous hot dog. Very long queue. I don't like hot dogs but queued to buy one with friends. It was raining too. Took us 15 minutes to buy 2 pieces. Quite good but not fantastic. My friends like them.

Such places can be such hits and misses, with all those rave reviews yet few disappointed customers. But We LOVED the hot dog here. The queue was long inspite of the rain. But the warm hotdog hit the spot- the sauces were perfect. I wish I'd bought more in the first go, coz I didn't have the time to stand... More

As their name says - they truly serve the best hot dogs! I recommend ordering at least two hot dogs per person, tasty and cheap. Got my hot dogs after 1 minutes of ordering, so quick serving. The locals seems to enjoy it also.

We came here on a Saturday after hearing about this place all week. The line was fairly long but moved quickly. They serve hot dogs. That's it. You can add mustard, catchup, grilled or raw onions, or remoulade sauce. You can get soft drinks or soft drinks. The hotdogs are 80% lamb and 20% pork. They are longer than the... More

The sauce was a little too sweet for my taste. Lines were long and the hot dogs tasted just like the ones back home. This was part of the food tour and I was not impressed.

Yes. Really. Walk up, order, eat and walk away. A mix of lamb and yummy unexpected toppings as the traditional specialty since 1930 something. When out and about, the must have for the unexpected but delicious snack.

The hot dogs are very moreish and I love how you can get your hotdog fix right up until 3am! Perfect after a night out in Reykjavik. I would love to see a wider selection of toppings but everything I did have was great tasting and you can't find anything this tasty for such a cheap price locally! A must... More

Baejarins beztu pylsur (English: The best hot dog in town) often shortened to simply "Baejarins beztu", is a popular hot dog stand in central Reykjavik, Iceland. In August 2006, the British newspaper The Guardian selected Baejarins beztu as the best hot dog stand in Europe.

The majority of Icelanders have eaten at Baejarins beztu. It's downtown near the harbor and has been open since 1937. Foreign visitors are often brought to the stand to introduce them to the hot dogs there, which are often called "the Icelandic national food." Among famous people who have eaten at Baejarins beztu are Bill Clinton, former president of the United States, and James Hetfield, vocalist of the popular heavy metal band Metallica.

A hot dog condiments include ketchup, sweet mustard, fried onion, raw onion and remoladi, a mayonnaise-based sauce with sweet relish. Hot dogs are often ordered with "the works," i.E., All condiments, or in Icelandic "eina med ollu".
