For the full Icelandic experience, be sure to try it "with everything"...minced fresh onions, fried onions and two sauces. This is NOT your typical American-style hot dog.

Order the hotdog with everything on it... it’s worth the wait! We waited about 10 minutes in typica Icelandic weather, and definitely didn’t regret our decision!

Certainly a unique hot dog stand. It is definitely worth the wait (the queue clears up pretty quickly), and the fresh onions are a nice touch (order one with everything). Cheap for Icelandic standards, great for a snack.

No idea what all the fuss is about. We sought out this famous hot dog stand, ordered a hotdog 'with everything' each (£6.43 in total) and were really disappointed. The bun was massive compared to the hot dog and it just tasted like any other...More

Simply my favourite hot dog in the world. Might be biased as I am born and raised in Iceland but even if I lived half my life abroad I still look forward to coming home and having a bite at Bæjarins Bestu! Always a line,...More

This hot dog stand is easy to find, just look for the queue near Radisson hotel. We had "the works" which I can definitely recommend. The mixture of varied onions and dressings gives it that special taste. Also is affordable.

Everyone recommended this place as being famous for its hotdogs made of 75% lamb and visited by film stars. Queued behind about 20 people to get what tasted like any other frankfurter I have had. It was alright but that's about it?

Baejarins beztu pylsur (English: The best hot dog in town) often shortened to simply "Baejarins beztu", is a popular hot dog stand in central Reykjavik, Iceland. In August 2006, the British newspaper The Guardian selected Baejarins beztu as the best hot dog stand in Europe. The majority of Icelanders have eaten at Baejarins beztu. It's downtown near the harbor and has been open since 1937. Foreign visitors are often brought to the stand to introduce them to the hot dogs there, which are often called "the Icelandic national food." Among famous people who have eaten at Baejarins beztu are Bill Clinton, former president of the United States, and James Hetfield, vocalist of the popular heavy metal band Metallica. A hot dog condiments include ketchup, sweet mustard, fried onion, raw onion and remoladi, a mayonnaise-based sauce with sweet relish. Hot dogs are often ordered with "the works," i.E., All condiments, or in Icelandic "eina med ollu".
