About
Baejarins beztu pylsur (English: The best hot dog in town) often shortened to simply "Baejarins beztu", is a popular hot dog stand in central Reykjavik, Iceland. In August 2006, the British newspaper The Guardian selected Baejarins beztu as the best hot dog stand in Europe. The majority of Icelanders have eaten at Baejarins beztu. It's downtown near the harbor and has been open since 1937. Foreign visitors are often brought to the stand to introduce them to the hot dogs there, which are often called "the Icelandic national food." Among famous people who have eaten at Baejarins beztu are Bill Clinton, former president of the United States, and James Hetfield, vocalist of the popular heavy metal

The historical hotdog stand is worth the visit but not worth a 30 plus minute wait... especially if you're not getting a hotdog with works!

£4.00 for the hot dog which was pretty decent considering everywhere is expensive! Very tastey for street food and worth the wait. Have all the toppings!

That many people can't be wrong! Basic hot dog and bun, the crispy onions were divine and whatever that brown sauce was is to die for!

Really fast service, good price, and a brilliant hotdog at the end of it. Everything on, of course; mustard, ketchup, crispy onions, and another sauce I couldn't figure out. It was awesome, and the queue went down really quickly.

I had to try a hot dog at least once. It was tasty. Never had a crunchy hot dog but that’s from the raw onions. All the sauces give the hot dog a unique flavor that I can’t explain. Overall delicious.

When in Rome... My first hot dog in Iceland. Lived up to every expectation (and I live in the home of hot dogs Chicago). I wish we could get one here. I'm already looking to source the ingredients so we can make them at home.

Bæjarins Beztu Pyslur was definitely on our bucket list while visiting Iceland, right outside our hotel, it was constantly busy with queues through day/night often people buying two or three at a time, we had a couple over our stay and they were lovely crispy...onions all the sauces on, piping hot in fact delicious. Would definitely recommend a visit will not disappoint the lady works so hard to serve everyone quickly. Great hotdogs.More

Iceland is a country where everything is pricey. For a quick snack this hotdog stand is denifitely a budget traveler's bestfriend. Love the presence of crunchy onions in the sandwich.

Well if something is advertised world's best - you are expecting something exceptional. And you want to try it.....especially when you are passing it by.... Don't expect it here. Nothing special - just basic stuff. If you skip it, you don't miss anything.

Delicious hotdogs, three different sauces and two types of onions. Very inexpensive. Would highly recommend as a snack when exploring the city

Below Average hot dogs. Built up to be much more than it actually is and you can find better ones in a stand downtown. Would say try it but it's nothing spectacular

An underrated hot dog stand looks wise but delicious produce comes from it. The hotdogs were delicious and typically Icelandic, they are more of a snack than a meal though as reasonably small. Always has a queue which says something

Sorry for the late notice. I don't think the distance is conducive for walking unless you enjoy walking a few miles/km. When we took the bus tour of the city the cruise terminal was east of Harpa Concert Hall about 4+km... More
