We stopped in for a light lunch, but were pleasantly surprised with their great menu (we didn’t realize it was a full restaurant not just a cafe). We had the plokkfiskur, meat soup (lamb) and lamb liver (special of that day). All were delicious! They...More

Cafe Loki is immediately across from one of the most iconic landmarks in Reykjavik, Hallgrímskirkja. It is a small, neighborhood place but has a good menu of Icelandic dishes, with several price points. The meat soup and rye bread were delicious, and lamb paté was...More

Excellent food and location. We had ryebread with fish and ice cream and meat soup. It was very good. It's also in great proximity to the church so a great view of people watching;)

This was a stop on our walking tour and we sampled the delicious Rye Bread Icecream, - a must have if you're in Reykjavik. There is also a glorious mural on teh wall outlining some of the main stories about the mischievous Loki.

Hotel recommended this for authentic Icelandic food. I'm a rather picky eater, yet I really enjoyed the Icelandic Sampler #1.. except for the sheep jelly portion. My husband had a traditional Icelandic soup with rye bread. He loved it. Rye bread ice cream is a...More

Went for the shark and brennevin shot. It was a good value compared to other restaurants I'd seen around. The servers were friendly and willing to entertain some of our questions about the city. Beware that the shark and shot are both gross but very...More

Reykjavik is not the best city for parking. Most of it is street parking, and you'll need to buy a permit at the kiosk. If you're not impaired, walking is usually faster and less frustrating.

Description
Cafe Loki offer Icelandic meat soup, Icelandic sample plates, homemade bread and cakes. Icelandic traditional homemade dishes are our specialty. You can taste fermented shark and dried fish but Icelandic meat soup and our Icelandic plates are most popular among the Rye Ice cream and Skyr cake. Beautiful view over Reykjavik, Hallgrimskirkja church and to mountain Blafjoll. Icelandic food.
