Babalu is a basic Cafe style place to eat, with a limited but good menu. Having had a big lunch earlier in the day, we stopped off here on our way back to our Guest house and had the lamb broth/soup which hit the spot. This place is good for what it is, an authentic simple cafe.

Hello fellow travellers! I really think Babalu offers amazing coffee (lattes!), amazing cake, amazing tomato soup and fun grilled-cheese sandwiches! Stop by! great hang out spot! Enjoy your stay in Reykjavik!

A cosy cafe with a chilled out vibe. We stopped here for a late lunch (lamb stew and a veggie chilli) on a cold day - the food was hearty, filling and just what we needed. Once finished we were then tempted by the cheesecake, which was yummy too.

Had a quick dinner here before our Northern lights tour. They have a very few dishes but it's good enough if you want a quick hearty food. We had the lamb soup and lasagna and must admit the soup wins. As far as the traditional lamb soups go I think this is a very good one and also at 1650isk... More

Went for lunch, and probably would have walked past if not for Trip Advisor picture! Very eclectic interior but clean. You find a table (there is an upstairs) then go to the counter to order and pay. Went for soup each, one tomato and one lamb. Both came with bread in odd bowls with loads of chips. They were clean... More

We had the lamb soup and the veg lasagna both of which were very very good. The place doesn't look like much but we really enjoyed it. All up the dishes cost us about 3500 isk. Would go again!

Me and my boyfriend ordered two hot chocolates, which looked lovely. Mine was barely warm so I asked for the owner/manager to heat it up. She solved this by putting my hot chocolate in the microwave, if I wanted a microwaved hot chocolate I could have made this at home and saved myself 580 ISK. Also, the hot chocolate was... More

I got some Vegetarian Chili to go from Babalu and really enjoyed the flavor. As with most European countries, meat is the main dish. As a vegetarian I really appreciated a place with a solid, tasty veg-friendly meal. FYI- they have meat on the menu too, but have a lot of veg options.

We popped into Babalu whilst walking round Reykjavik. We ordered two coffees, a grilled sandwich and a cheesecake. The service was fine but unspectacular. The grilled sandwich was tasty but the Nutella cheesecake was grainy and unpleasant to eat. I read good reviews prior to visiting but this wasn't as good as we expected.

Stopped by here on a way back from visiting the main church. In a cool boho type area and funky looking from the outside. Inside it is cosy and relaxing. We had a nice hot chocolate but saw a few nice cakes coming out (Nutella!) and some lovely soups. This place is popular for a reason, it does a few... More
