This place serves specialty coffee and is also a partner of Borg brewery, for whose porter they provide coffee. For my standards, the beverage itself was rather average. Also - traditionally in Iceland - the economy is not customer-centered. We were asked to leave the premises few minutes after being served because they were closing.

Small but crowded little cafe at the corner. I was surprised that many tourists seemed to know about this place. Good rest stop along the way to Hallgrimskirkja. Space is limited.

Hip but friendly. Toasty. Great snacks and drinks. Can be full. Note the limited seating behind the bar. Nice light for the seating up front.

Reykjavik Roasters is the top of the barista class in Reykjavik! Young hipsters with a passion for coffee. Buy a piece of Omnom chocalate with your favourite coffee. The café itself is light with retro furniture and there's always cool music on the vinyl. Expect queues early morning and around lunch time.

From the reviews I wanted to hunt this place out and we did but initially we gave up and went inside a place called Reykjavik roasters and after looking at the awards (of which there are plenty) they all said Kaffismidja Islands. The place is minimal with mismatched wooden furniture and an old school record player (playing relaxed, folk/ambient music).... More

My friend and I used joke about all the bearded, groomed hipsters you find in here, but in a good way. It has great coffee, a great vibe but a little uncomfortable seating-wise. There were only croissants & brioche to eat, so it's really a place to come for the coffee. Beware that it's only open from 8:30-5pm, and they... More

A cafe as one would envision it. Always packed, often a little too crowded . Always top notch coffee. I was recommended this by a "national barrista winner" from a nearby country, and it did not disappoint. They know their coffee here, and for further entertainment, they sometimes even roast it in front of you. Very low key environment. A... More

Being coffee lovers, we heard about this place through the grapevine. They had won 'best barista' year after year, so we knew we had to check it out! We went here first thing after arriving in Reykjavik. The staff were not that friendly, and didn't seem to want to serve us. We weren't sure if it was because we were... More

Seriously, this hipster-looking hangout is really a haven for locals who enjoy the real stuff: superb coffee (meaning espresso drinks). My mission in Reykjavik was to sample mochas (so called "swiss" mochas) all over town. You knew they had it right here, because they called it what is was: "Espresso m.(eð) Súkkulaði" [espresso with chocolate]. Yummmmm. Delicious, simple goodies --... More

I spent four days in Reykjavik and the only café i visited more than once was Kaffismidja. I actually went there every day I was in town - and some days more than once. I tried several of their different varieties of coffee - from espresso to caffe latte - and they were all excellent. I higly recommend that you... More
