Came here with my girlfriend March 2017. The customer service was fantastic and the steaks simply amazing. We like our steaks cooked at different ends of the scale & both were perfect. Portions were spot on with a good selection of both food & drinks available. Once we'd left the restaurant we both commented they were possibly the best steaks... More

Our group of 11 were blown away with how great this place was. My friends who had the surf and turf said it was one of the best meals they have ever had. If you are in Reykjavik you have to go here.

We were given a Reykjavik coupon book on our second to last day in the city . Found a 25 % off coupon for the steakhouse . The coupon made the meal totally affordable, $ 55 pp for a price fixe menu that included , a sampler appetizer ( whale , duck , tuna ) a filet mignon , side... More

We were invited here by some friends that live in Reykjavik. To me, that says a lot about a place when the locals are going. The food here was great and the atmosphere felt very 'Icelandic '. The food is excellent and is presented well. This easily compares to any of the higher end steakhouses in the states. We ordered... More

This place was excellent. I was wary Iceland would have a good steakhouse but I was pleasantly surprised. I would definitely eat here again. My filet was perfect.

This place is a definite must when visiting Reykjavik. My boyfriend and I decided to have dinner here on our last night in in the city and we're glad we did! I got the rib eye with a side of lobster tail and asparagus and I'm still dreaming of this meal. A bit pricey but its worth it!

Having eaten lots of fish we were desperate for a steak, and found this restaurant near our hotel. Arrived and seated promptly, we wanted to move table as right next to the pass, and no problem or fuss. The steak was melt in the mouth delicious, we shared mushrooms, chips and pepper sauce and it was still the most expensive... More

We wanted to have a nice dinner and this was it! Although our map showed it in a different location, we finally found it and were glad we did. The food was excellent and on par with any steak dinner in the US. We weren't brave enough to try the horse, just stuck with what we know and it was... More

By far the best steak I have ever had- it is expensive but worth every penny. Great service and food, highly recommend!

Visited after reading lots of good reviews. Hotel booked for us no problem. Arrived and seated promptly. Found the menu to be a little limited to what we are used to but ended up having the chicken thigh. 6 out of 7 meals arrived then waited a good 5 minutes for the last meal to arrive..... No apology! 1 sent... More

A five story concrete building that once housed offices on the upper floors and a metalwork company on the ground floor, now is the home of restaurant The Steakhouse on the ground floor, the four floors above are now apartments. The old harbor area of Reykjavik has in the last couple of years, changed in to a real gem where various cuisines, museums and arts and crafts have replaced the metalworks and fisheries. The newest addition is STEIKHÚSIÐ, which simply means „The Steak House”. The name is a deliberately this simple and descriptive, the aim is to be the only steakhouse you think of after the first visit. The heart of Steikhúsið is the coal oven from Mibrasa and the soul is our own way of tendering meat for at least 28 days. Those who seek for something purely Icelandic won’t be disappointed, Steikhúsið also caters to those who want the best of Icelandic lamb and fish.
