Whilst exploring the city after a long day of travelling, my friend and I came across this amazing coffee shop with great English speaking staff. What a unique place with a great atmosphere, the chocolate gateau and hot chocolate were to die for. Definitely worth the visit and money we paid!!

We took a short break in our first day in town. It was cold and we wanted to warm up after our walking tour. We headed here for some grilled sandwiches, waffles and coffee. It was a nice break and cozy here to warm up.

Service very icelandic so don't expect too many smiles but the atmosphere is super and the coffee just superb! It hasn't changed much since I was young and I love that about it. Still a social gathering for the young old lads ;) - Just an ace place. The art is always a talking point! Takk Mokka!

This coffee shop has been around and in the family for years. The coffee is delicious (says my husband) as is the tea. Theuy are know for their waffles but did not try since we had gone to a bakery earlier. They had a great exhibit on the wall as well. Great location and place

We were craving for a good cup of coffee when one of the locals pointed us towards this small cosy cafe. Apparently, it is the oldest cafe in Reykjavik. Definitely the best coffee we've tasted so far and would highly recommend it. The waffle was also crispy and delicious. Do go there if you could and have a bit of... More

Mokka Kaffi has wonderful coffee and very tasty breakfast items. Service was quick. Tables are small and close together. At our table, the low hanging lamp was right in my face, so that was a little annoying.

Ordered a cappucino, this is what I got. They forgot my order for my waffle and offered me a refill on the coffee. Do not recommend!

My husband and I went here looking for breakfast in Reykjavik. Though it wasnt a full breakfast menu, the food was great and the people watching was fun as well. Seems like more of a locals place. We had a soy latte, hot chocolate, waffle and sourdough toast. Yum! Highly recommend!

Description
An Icelandic tradition since 1958. Mokka is one of Reykjavik's oldest cafés and the first to install an espresso machine and serve espresso, cappuccino, and café latte in Iceland. There's a tempting selection of sandwitches, cakes, and the coffee and hot chocolate are excllent with their famous house waffles, served with cream and jam. The déckor - red carpet, leatherette booths and stools - hasn't changed much althought the art on the walls is changed every 4-6 weeks as the café has doubled as an Art gallery with new art for sale since opening.
