Brasserie Askur is the place to visit when hungry especially at weekends when they offer open buffet. You have soup and salad as a starter, then you can get pork, lamb or turkey cut by the chief and a selection of vegetables and gravies. To top it all you get a creamy, chocolate flavoured dessert. Really worth the visit.

A tiny bit pricy for my taste but the food was good. The service was good and the salmon we had was cook to perfection. no reservations needed.

We went two nights running as one of our party is a fussy eater so as we found something he likes we went back. The more expensive main meals come with soup and salad so no need for starters. I had a burger on the first night so no extras but it filled me up. No complaints - it was... More

Very friendly and helpful staff to start off with. The highlight is the salad and soup bar. After several days for meat/seafood, it is a welcome relief. We had lamb chops and cod fish as our main courses and it is a very generous portion; must comment that it is slightly salty. Hearty and healthy dinner for a different experience... More

Ate here on our first night as it was close to the hotel. Seated promptly. Waitress was very cold, barely said more than 2 words and very little eye contact. My bbq chicken and ribs were delicious and would recommend. My partner had the hamburger which came red in the middle. Was not asked when ordering how we would like... More

We stumbled on this restaurant while looking for 'somewhere to eat' before going to see the northern lights. What a great place! There were eight of us which isn't simple for a small restaurant but nothing was too much trouble. Great food so well cooked and big portions had us very full for our trip to come. We were so... We stayed at City Park hotel and wanted to find somewhere for dinner close by. Brasserie Askur was only a 5-minute walk from the hotel. We looked at the website and didn't see a kids' menu but took our chances. They had a kids' menu posted outside the restaurant. There was a choice of 5 or 6 entrees and their... More

After having a lot of fish through our time in iceland we were happy to find this place within walking distance from our hotel offering a variety of steaks and burgers as well. Service was very good, the food came as we ordered it (including some changes), in the evening the main courses include all the salat buffett and a... More

Lovely decor and popular with local families. Great selection of food, many dishes come with access to the free salad and soup bar. Big portion sizes which makes the Icelandic prices bearable. Quick and friendly service.
