We wanted to walk to dinner from our cottage and expected to eat local fish but not to find such an amazing place. Our party of 6 with infant did not have space but a group of 3 moved so they could put tables together for us. Such thoughtfulness. The garlic bread and salt starter was just the thing after... While in Iceland we cooked a lot of our own meals but went to Narfeyrarstofa for one our out nights out. It's a fun and quaint house with fresh seafood and a cozy atmosphere. Everyone in our group loved it. Service wan't top notch, but we weren't in a rush. I can see how it could be hit or miss... More

Hesitated to visit this spot based on a review from earlier this week, but tonight it was excellent. Service was top notch. Server, Anna helped narrow done my selection(had the pan grilled Cod) - it was incredible. Started with the pan fried scallops. Garnished with ginger - brilliant tastes. Will come back for sure.

I've been to restaurants all over the US and Europe. I've never seen one as poorly managed and with as poor customer service as this one. I wouldn't know about the food as my family didn't get to eat after 2 hours. I was staying in the hotel directly across the street. I want in a little after 6 pm... More

My wife had the scallops and I had the cod. Both were fresh and delicious. There was only one server. Though a small place it took a bit for service. I didn T mind as we were there for a relaxing dinner.

This restaurant is famous for its Blue mussels and is located in the fishing/port side town of Stykkisholmur in Snaefellsnes peninsula. Although we couldn't have those at this time of the year, we were blown away by the perfect quality, ambience and service of this place. The server was very helpful and patiently explained us about the choices on the... More

A warm and friendly local place to eat. We both had the fish soup as a starter, it was tasty, creamy and filing which we both enjoyed. I had the lamb which was flavoursome but unfortunately tough and my partner had the trout which was very fresh and perfectly cooked but the curry flavour was not to his taste. The... More

We dined here twice during our stay in Stykkisholmur. I was initially impressed that the staff spoke impeccable idiomatic American English (common throughout the country.) The menu had the usual Icelandic main courses (beef, fish, vegetarian) but also a large selection of hamburgers and freshly baked dessert cakes. I was part of a party of 11 which they handled with... We went here after reading the reviews here. We came in when the restaurant was full, a good sign! At first we were send away but after pushing a bit we were able to sit down at a wooden bench to wait for a table. After 15 minutes a table came free. We were looking forward to eating here. I...
