This house is a step back in time - full of character and history! We had a wonderful reunion luncheon with 33 of us in the ballroom - a beautiful room that was just the right size and we were seated at 3 large round tables. From the moment we stepped across the threshold, the pre-ordered lunch drinks were immediately... More

Interesting place full of character and done up in Xmas style with a magnificent tree in the main hall. The rooms were fine and well appointed. The meal was alright; but majored more on appearance than flavour/reasonable quantity.Waiting staff was very pleasant but inexperienced which at this level should not be the case.

This restaurant serves amazing food with superb service. We attended a family celebration at Lewtrenchard Manor Restaurant and upon arrival were guided through to the library for pre drinks and to order from the Menu. Once food was ready, we were showed to a private dining room. The waiter we had looking after us was very attentive and looked after... More

This is not so much a review as a big thank you to all at Lewtrenchard for a super Christmas lunch. From the moment we arrived, everything was just right, to a glass of champagne to menus being handed without a pause! The lunch was excellent. Portions good. Even my luncheon guest who usually moans about the size of the... More

As we were staying nearby we thought we would re-visit Lewtrenchard Manor for Sunday lunch. The gardens were looking fantastic sunshine bringing out the colours of the autumn leaves. The staff were welcoming and attentive and all in all we enjoyed the lunch. Without wanting to be too critical the cooking isn't quite as accomplished as it has been in... More

Just love the whole experience of Lewtrechard Manor. The drinks in the bar were served with attention to detail and the "nibbles" were delicious. The meal was excellent just a pity we were the only ones dining as it did lack atmosphere and it was a little chilly. But overall a lovely evening.

We ate dinner here twice during our 5 day stay. Once we had the multi-course menu and the once the ala carte/pub menu. Both were excellent. The multi-course dinner offerings were exquisitely presented and tasted as good as they looked. Highly recommend this for a special evening.

We have not been here for a few years and I do not really know why. Shot up from Cornwall in the sports car for a excellent lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great amuse bouche of wild mushroom soup, very good goat cheese starter and an excellent duck main. Desserts were of equal quality. Surroundings are comfortable and the service... More

Very happy with our decision to book an Afternoon Tea here. Lovely country house style hotel in its own grounds with some late colour remaining in the flower borders. There was a friendly reception when we arrived, and we could choose where we had our tea as it was quiet that day. There was a lovely fire set in the... More

We chose Lewtrenchard to celebrate my sister and brother in law`s Wedding Anniversary. We could not have made a better choice! From start to finish the entire luncheon experience was perfect. We began with drinks and delicious canapes in the comfortable bar. We were called through to the Dining Room very promptly and our starters were served almost immediately (... More

Description
A beautiful Jacobean manor house deep in the Devon countryside, Lewtrenchard Manor offers luxury dining in a sublime setting. Dating back to the 1600s, the Manor has an interesting and varied history, a fact that can be seen in every nook and cranny throughout the hotel and dining rooms. One of the finest restaurants in the county, the Lewtrenchard Manor restaurant is overseen by Chef Matthew Peryer who learned his trade in high quality Michelin stared establishments. The menus make the most of the best of Devonshire produce while employing the methods and flavour combinations of chic modern European cuisine, earning the restaurant its reputation. Lively and relaxed, Lewtrenchard Manor is a superb place in which to indulge in the very best food and, indeed, delightful wines from the extensive cellar of old and new world labels.
