Thoroughly enjoyed the food at this restaurant. We chose a mix of Indian and Middle Eastern food all of which was well cooked and nicely spiced. From the menu you can have mild to hot dishes. Poppadums not on menu but are available with a...More

The food is ok however the management are very rude. They don't like to take a booking for a family gathering though there was only 7 of us. A booking is a booking and the place should be glad of the business. There are far...More

Combing Maltese, Maghreb and Indian cuisine in one place could be a challenge but it seems that this restaurant masters all these three types of cuisine. The meals were delicious. The wine menu is quite good. Ironically I found there a bottle of an excellent...More

I started with the mussels and choritzo which was very good I followed with the fish curry which was very acceptable. My wife had chicken tikka masala. The chicken was dry and tough which spoiled the evening.

I really wanted to like this place and went on the reviews. It was walking distance from our hotel so made it attractive for our first night in Valetta. It is a small place that opens for dinner at 7pm. Staff are very friendly and...More

My three adult children and I had lunch at La Mere Restaurant. I was a bit skeptical at first but changed my mind when we received our food, a nice mix of different Indian dishes (or rather Indian with a twist).

Very nice place, in the heart of Valletta. The food is tasty and the service is impeccable. A little bit pricey, but that seems to be the style in Valletta lately. A tip: try the coffee with ice cream! Perfect after the spice!

La Mère is tucked away past the old 'Suq Tal' Belt'. Rustic wooden tables blend with Middle Eastern décor, matching the unique theme of two great cuisines - Indian and Middle Eastern. A small, intimate dining area, and flickering candles, give a warm, homely feel. However, the tables are spaced enough that you do not feel cramped. Servers are attentive and knowledgeable on the wide choice available in the menu. Here, our desire is to present a repertoire of authentic dishes, bursting with flavour, certainly a multi-sensory experience. The menu offers a broad selection of starters, allowing you to whet your palate with a Lebanese spiced lamb sausage, or enjoy mussels and chorizo in coconut milk. Mains are similarly varied, giving you a choice of curries, or perhaps king prawns or lamb chops cooked in the tandoor. Our new menu also presents a selection of main dishes with a fusion twist, such a marinated filet of fish wrapped in banana leaf. There is also a good choice of vegetarian, vegan, lactose and gluten free options. Besides we have introduced a menu degustation, an extensive wine list, cocktails and whiskeys and a broad selection of homemade desserts such as chocolate filled samosas with mango and coconut, assorted baklava, pistachio and ricotta briouats with halva ice-cream.
