My husband and I were pleasantly surprised by the food at San Giovanni. We went there because it was a pleasant outdoor spot opposite St. John's Co-Cathedral in the middle of Valletta. I had fried calamari, which was delicious, and my husband had a good hamburger. The service was good.

We visited here on our first - and last - night in Valletta. On both occasions, the food was excellent albeit the service was a little slow. On the last night, we both tried fish. I am fussy here. I do not like bones!! The chef filleted my Sea Bass and there was not a single bone in it. It... More

We had a wonderful lunch at San Giovanni. We tried lamb shank & pistachio crusted salmon. The taste is totally utterly absolutely beyond our expectation! The lamb was so tender with the sauce, and the salmon is well baked companied with delicious sweet mustard sauce. I had never tried this combination before, it is impressed me! The aside vegetables also... More

The staff here were immediately very attentive, asking if we required the outdoor heaters on and if we were comfortable. The food is excellent, very large potions and god value for money. The puddings are very impressive and also delicious!

We stopped her for coffee, and then went for a wander round before returning for lunch. The menu was good, tasty and the local beer (Cisk) was cold and refreshingly inexpensive. Lunch with tree round of drinks was €20 per head with tip.

A friend and I arrived a few days early before starting our Malta Heritage Tour with Dr. Robert Schoch, a thought leader on ancient civilizations. We took the little train ride (on the side of the Co-Cathedral) around Valletta and once finished we spotted San Giovanni for lunch. What a find it was! We were craving a salad and they... More
