Koks is a unique experience. It is really like nothing else and something special. The view is just amazing and the set up of the restaurant really cozy. You just feel so peaceful and you know you are living a moment that is rare and might not happen again. We have chosen the menu with Juices pairing. Pairing was just... More

It was only after I had booked that I realised the restaurant had moved from the hotel to a tiny village on the coast. A huge picture window looks out over a number of islands and there was the usual mix of clouds, sun and water as the sun went down, everything fading to black except the lights of villages... More

The meal, the drinks, the atmosphere etc is simply worth traveling for. If you ever find yourself on the Faroe Islands, visit KOKS.

We decided to try this place based on lots of complements and reviews. Despite being not a fan of western food we found this restaurant is excellent and full of art of gastronomy and preparation using local ingredients. The 16 food courses on its testing menu include superb lamb, cod, and halibut and blended with local vegetables like seed weed,... More

Fantastic wine and food pairing. Incredible view. The staff was impeccably friendly and accommodating. Couldn't have been happier with our experience. A unique and eye opening tour through Faroese cuisine.

I agree with all the good comments about this restaurant and I give it the excellent rating. Just two points : We added even more discovery by chosing the "juice pairing" instead of "wine pairing". It was not a good idea. Apart from creating less atmosphere than wine, juices are all very sweet, I don't recommend. Not for big eaters,... More

The 17 course menu (7 starters, 10 main courses) was outstanding and we also opted for the wine pairing which was fantastic. The restaurant itself, although a bit out of the way (a 15 minute taxi ride) was lovely and spaceous, with fantastic views out to sea. There is also a private dining room. The staff were superb and highly... More

We finished our Faroe Island tour with Koks. A worthy closure of a nature/cuisine tour of the islands. The restaurant has relocated to a, slightly converted, modern house overlooking Hessfjordur, from its previous location, Føroyar hotel. The location is splendid with a wonderful view over the southern islands, albeit a bit at the end of the world (15 mins drive... More

Certainly in a league of its own. Atmosphere is relaxed yet classy. View at the current location is wonderful. Food is truly magnificent. You have to come to Faroe Islands JUST to eat here!!!! Most amazing meal!

At the heart of KOKS is the culinary coquetry of Poul Andrias Ziska. As KOKS' head chef he masters the artistry of distilling taste and smell from the Faroese landscape, combining them in exquisite dishes. The palate is local, uncompromisingly Faroese. The young avant-gardes at KOKS use Faroese produce, both coarse and fine, ancient and modern, always keeping an eye on sustainability, leaving the hills that bring forth the good fruit to flourish. Rather than chasing the novel for its own sake, every effort is put into exploring the ancient practices - drying, fermenting, salting and smoking. KOKS follows the seasons and what they bring forth, transforming ancient culinary tradition into modern delicacies. The simple and pure, what is fresh and traditional characterises KOKS.
