We had wandered by this restaurant a few times walking into town and decided on our last night to try. The restaurant is in a building that dates to the 15th century and still has an old world feel about it. The food was fantastic with large portions. Staff friendly and service good. Prices were reasonable. An added attraction is... More

Second time to visit one of the oldest restaurants in Vienna - well worth the visit! Traditional Viennese food, excellent service, upmarket prices, but worth every cent - spoil yourself!!

Visited the restaurant after spending the day in Vienna. Stumbled across it looking for somewhere to eat. What a find, we sat outside on a beautiful spring night. The service and food was second to none. We would definitely recommend it to anyone visisting Vienna

This has always been the restaurant u passed by but never chose for dinner, would have been best to leave it that way. The food: I had a soup and zwibelrostbraten ( my favorite dish) and it was ok, not good not bad, just ok, but for the prices they have it should be at least "kind of delicious ".... More

A quaint property almost hidden in the middle of the Centre of town and not easy to find till one is actually looking for it. Very interesting restaurant to visit specially with numerous small rooms visited by celebrities and signed by them on the walls dating back to Mozart!! A very special place to visit! Despite the attention and good... More

I came with a group of 40+ people and since reservation we had no problem to fill in the basement areas. There are lines of people waiting must be popular with tourists. Had great food, nice live piano music. Had nice wine and beer. The building is also very cool outside.

I have dined numerous times here over the years, and wanted to repeat now while in town on a river cruise. We sat inside( cold, damp outside) in the small Zither Room. Despite the name the music was provided by a violin! We ate enormous and good wienerschnitzels with plentiful and good salad and a side order of pommel frites.,... More

Stumbled across Griechenbeisl with an afternoon to spare before flying home. Exactly what we were looking for; old world Viennese charm and history. Recommend a litre stein of lager, schnitzel and a bottle of red 😉

Terrible boorish waiters. Food good enough but you should be prepared to wait for it for unacceptably long. Place pampered by the tourists.

When travelling to Vienna for few days only I found this place by chance. It was accross from our hotel POST and I was excited by the venue! This little historical place is very traditional, cosy, pleasant. I recommend it very much to the USA travellers looking for something old fashioned. Their food was delicious, staff helpful. Rates are higher,... More
