We dropped by this place on the off chance and were lucky to get a table in this tiny restaurant. When I say lucky, I mean it - within minutes of being seated, a steady stream of would be diners (many obviously locals) were turned away for lack of space so if you intend to go, book ahead. On to... More

Had lunch here on a very quiet Monday in November. We (two) were led upstairs to the cosy dining room which was completely empty and probably only accommodates 20 people at a push. I can imagine the atmosphere on a busy day would be pretty lively, however at 2:30 in the afternoon it was silent, which is great if you... More

This restaurant is a lovely place with good food. We had a great meal for a reasonable price. Beware that there is a "cover" charge for bread, etc. This is common in Vienna.

We ate twice in this restaurant in 4 days - once in the evening and once for a lunch. Both meals were excellent. The waiters were very attentive, and knew the wines of Austria. On the first visit we had Wiener Schnitzels which were excellent and for lunch, 2 days later we all had trout, which were sublime. Booking is... More

The "typical" Austrian food was not totally to our liking even if we love Austrian food. Maybe there were too few customers? (one other couple in the restaurant). The waiters were nice however.

We walked there from the Guesthouse Hotel (near the Albertina) for our first night's dinner in Vienna. The woman who greeted us is the owner and has been there for over 30 years. Goulash was excellent so was the schnitzel. MUST make a reservation as this place only sits like 15 people.

We had a wonderful evening at this well regarded restaurant. Once upon a time the family must have considered building on success by expanding. Fortunately they chose to remain close to their diners and provide the personal service that adds so much to the dining experience. Always a good sign when so many locals frequent a restaurant like this. We... More

We sat outside and that was very nice. The food was very good, but it was a bit expensive for what it was. I was pleasantly surprised by the potato salad, which was great at this restaurant even though I usually am not crazy about it in general. The service was very good as well. Overall I recommend this restaurant.

I like this restaurant. It has a small personal atmosphere, with personal attention as to suggestions. The foods are personally prepared upon being ordered, and are tasty and delicious. Delicious sauces hand prepared, and served in historical containers. I ate in different restaurants each day for a week, and this was one of my favorites!! Thank you.
