The restaurant was closed, but it smaller "brother" the Esterhaty Strübl was open. We has our meal on the street - very calm passage way and had a daily menu for a very reasonable price and a very good food.

Note: You can skip to the conclusion if you can't be bothered to read. Well first off we were shoved into the garden where the waiter hastily dumped two menus on our table. She came back to our table and quickly took our orders. We...More

We waited some 30 min for our drinks while watching the neighbouring guests, who had arrived after us, finish their meals. The waitress had some excuses about kitchen equipment which were clearly and pathetically improvised. When asked to see the manager we got another excuse,...More

Got here later on on the evening, lots of people sat outside. We tried to go look and sit inside as wanted to try go and see the original cellars. Instead we were ushered into the garden. We only wanted a beer but we're rushed...More

We actually ate in the Esterhazysteberl, the patio above the Keller, which was lovely on a warm June evening. I had the wonderful pork tenderloin in pepper sauce with a small salad to start (and of course a couple of 1/2 beers) and my wife...More

As part of our EF tour we stopped here. This is our first EF Tour so we are quickly learning what to expect and not expect. This meal lasted 35 minutes and was hot and ready when we got there. Chicken and rice with gravy...More

This restaurant is interestingly set in an underground bunker, which seems a bit dirty for dining in. I think it would be best to just have a beer or two here if the building interests you. As for the food it can be best described...More

We are actually looking for Bierhof, which is opposite this restaurant and finally decided on Esterhazy since there was space. What a mistake. The staff were not very helpful and most of the food was disgusting. The children ordered the ravioli which was inedible; the...More

We were sent here from a bar round the corner in search of a hearty feed. The restaurant is down in a cellar and is apparently the oldest in Vienna, it was pretty cool in that respect and felt like it was authentically Viennese. The...More

Always! It's their signature dish! It would be like going to McDonalds and the Big Mac not being available! It may be 4 years between my visits, but the standard is always great.
