Went here as a coordinator of a student tour group. Great cosy decor even though it's overdone stereotypical. Not bad if you want a different experience. All the students enjoyed their meals. They also met the needs of special diets. But it seems it was only open for tour groups this evening. I felt the food was average.

Being here with a group of students, the place is fine, decorated in a tipical "Viennese style" with this beautiful wood and velvet chairs and bench. The food in comparison with the place is horrible, meat not well cooked, disgusting suops... and we also found ants in our place! Never again! CIBO ORRENDO, DAVVERO!

We recently visited Hungary and loved their food. The food at Kardos looked similar but tasted very different. The waiter was very nice and friendly - but very busy since he was the only staff member who served everyone in the restaurant during the evening.

This restaurant is usually closed on Sunday but our tour director had arranged for our visit. Close walk from the Hilton. There were no other patrons in the restaurant. That was the 1st problem. We were a party of 12 which is probably not a good reason to open a whole restaurant. Our server was very fluent in English and... More

I visited with several colleagues. All the food were delicious.. The wines we tried also were good local wines. The staff was helpful, and kind. The decoration is too much. Painful. :)

Price/quality good. Perhaps a little bit to dark inside, but it was a rainy evening when we were there. A nice, spaceous, cosy cellar where groups could eat and where the toilets are. We were offered a drink when we couldn't leave because of the thunderstorm.

The restaurant specialize on the Austria-Hungarian and Balkan dishes. It has very nice, apparently historical, interior with a carved wooden panels, fireplace, old-styled furniture etc. It is quite cozy and food is not bad, goulash (stew, not a soup) was very good. However, I have encountered a non proper attitude from the waiters. I ordered a glass of Hungarian good... More

I was several times in this restaurant - always with my job. The food is really nice, they always prepare nice vegetarian versions on request, so the cook really knows her / his job. But the place itself is rather a touristic place, I do not really like its spirit.

Nice place. Our waiter Ahmed was very nice. We were with a tour group so we had a preset menu. Since I am gluten-free they were able to accommodate me with a last minute notice. The food was average. The rest of the group said theirs was okay.

I've had 26 people for a business dinner. This restaurant was chosen by a travel agent. It was a nightmare. For about 80 euros per person we've got a ridiculously small dish of a stale "mixed salad", a tasteless fish fillet with potatoes and overcooked vegetables, and a chocolate cake with canned whipped cream ( or a peeled -but not... In central Vienna the Kardos Restaurant invites you on an exciting culinary trip. Enter through the original Siebenberger door to a world of Viennese charm, find a wealth of character inspired by Hungary, Austria, Slovenia and beyond. Here traditional artworks by Franz Zelezny, dating to 1912 hang on the walls, there one hundred year old flower patterned plates give authentic charm. The old-world meets the new in a fusion of wood, glass and light, a superb reflection of the Kardos family and their gastronomic history dating back more than 100 years. Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, Bohemia and the Balkans are represented on a varied menu which is a taste of home for many and a taste of foreign lands for others.

In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
