We went on a Thursday night with family. Good pizzas served by friendly staff with quick and efficient service. It was full while we were there and the place had a good buzz with people coming and going. Decor very ordinary- bright strip lights so not the place for a romantic dinner! Would go back if I am in the... More

When I am craving for a pizza, I go Pizza Mari, a pure pizza place which does napoli-style pizza in the 2nd district in Vienna. Service is normally quick and friendly, pizza is delicious.

My wife and I are staying in Meininger Hotel and is very close to this nice "pizzaria". It is a simple restaurant but very cozy with a friendly young staff and a delicious pizza done in a wood oven, for a very good price. The pizza is very thin and has a good size for one person. There are many... More

Authentic Italian pizza prepared by Italian guys. The food is very good, the drinks are normal, but the staff is a disaster. They are not very friendly or efficient and appear to be a bunch of students. The restaurant would do better to have trained waiters there

Good pizza but nothing to rave about. Really found it overrated for what you get. Nothing comparable to what I can get in Italy.

We were here after a recommendation from our b&b owners. We didn't have a reservation, but still managed to get a table. We each ordered a pizza which were both very delicious and also our desserts were very tasty. When we ever visit Wien again, we will definetely come back here!

Nice to find a pizza place that makes actual Italian pizza: not too many toppings nor options, just fresh and tasty ingredients, all cooked in a wood fire. Staff is friendly and the deserts are also good. Can be very busy, better to book a table

Great place for authentic Italian pizza - on my top ten places in Vienna. The prices are very adequate ~ 10 euros per pizza. Relaxed and casual ambience, perfect for a relaxed lunch

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
