Poor guy (Slovakian dude) was running around like a headless chicken. Maybe his colleague called in sick, who knows. But it was one guy vs. 30 customers. And to be fair he did a good job. Some of the more famous schnitzel restaurants nearby had queues outside so we opted for this place. Great atmosphere and food was lovely. The... More

When one enters immediately one smells the cigarette smoke, a very nostalgic scent. In the back one can sit free of the cigarettes. We had beer and later goulash and Wiener schnitzel. Good, basic, nice and absolutely not expensive. It could be today, it could be 1990, it could be even 1980. Nothing's changed. Great!

Located in a center area you can have fun and enjoy the ambiance of that bar. We had a late dinner ordering local food (goulash, schnitzel and frankfurt). The best dish was the schnitzel. Waitress was rude when we order the food is the only negative comment about.

The Kaffee Alt Wien is a nice little place for a quick, very well-priced meal. It has a definite throw-back feel (a good thing, in my book). We were there for lunch and really enjoyed the goulash soup. Ham+Cheese sandwich was tasty. A nice beer to wash it down with. Friendly, efficient service, but limited English. Smoking and non-smoking sections... More

This is a step back to the 20th century when you could dine and smoke at the same time. Lovely, lol. Seriously, I'm not a smoker but I don't have anything against them. Here, you can have an outstanding goulash and beer and if you wish, you could have a cigarette without stepping outside. The staff is friendly and hardworking... More
