This famous traditional café with its 130 year history was first opened in 1876 and at the turn of the 20th century it was a popular meeting point for leading lights in the world of art, literature, politics and science such as Arthur Schnitzler, Sigmund Freud, Peter Altenberg and Leo Trotzki. Then, like today, the legendary literature café was a meeting point for all ages, regular guests, Viennese locals and visitors. Unique architecture combined with the best coffee specialties, classic Viennese cuisine and finest home-made pastries make every visit a special experience. Daily Live Piano Music from 5pm on! Amazing place and worth to visit for everyone who is visitting Vienna! 🤩 I had Apple Strudel and it was soo tasty. The service is high class, everyone is very polite and there’s been cozy atmosphere. I recommend!

I ate a late lunch at Cafe Central, after a 20/30 minutes queue, I was seated near another couple, the tables where definetly too close together, especially during covid times but I can understand that the request is high. The Cafe Central is very beautiful...inside and the staff was very friendly, I ordered their specialty the Wiennese Schnitzel with potatoes and lemon, and a small draft beer and let me just tell you the food was incredible, it was definitely worth the wait and the price!More

Very short wait. Over the top quality of service. Had a great soup and salad. And of course a fine dessert. I will be back next time I am in Vienna.

We had really bad interactions with the waiting staff. They were just really rude. The food was really not up to scratch and when we were asked how the food was we replied it wasn't great and the reply was "that's great, thank you so...much" - which is a clear indication of the waiting staff simply not listening. Overall, we paid quite a lot for this experience as well, which was just subpar. There's many better places to go in vienna!More

It is a must to eat something there when staying in Vienna. I was there with my friend for a launch and I took the Wiener goulash and it it was a haven in the mouth. Then the Sachertorte as the dessert with the Ice...Coffee was a good finish of the meal. And the ambience of the restaurant is superb.More

Stunning building with amazing history. The waiter was efficient and helpful. We have found service/hospitality to be really poor whilst visiting Austria so this was a real positive. Lovely to choose from the cake display and the coffee was great.More
