One of the many cafes we visited during our stay in Vienna. Popular with visitors from all around the world. We didn't have to queue for too long to get in and we're seated promptly. Wait staff were generally attentive but no one was around...More

Very famous as you already know and very interesting a totally different experience. Make sure to get inside, not outside. You will have a piano player, excellent choices of cakes and pastries, coffees and actually lots of great food choices. Very pleasant atmosphere.

Absolutely outstanding cakes and wonderful ‘classic’ black tie service. Had to wait 20mins for a table, but worth it. A must do in Vienna!

I found this venue amongst others when I did a web search of “things to do on a rainy Sunday in Vienna”. We, like others, lined up in the rain outside and had no complaints about having to again line up inside before we were...More

This famous traditional café with its 130 year history was first opened in 1876 and at the turn of the 20th century it was a popular meeting point for leading lights in the world of art, literature, politics and science such as Arthur Schnitzler, Sigmund Freud, Peter Altenberg and Leo Trotzki. Then, like today, the legendary literature café was a meeting point for all ages, regular guests, Viennese locals and visitors. Unique architecture combined with the best coffee specialties, classic Viennese cuisine and finest home-made pastries make every visit a special experience. Daily Live Piano Music from 5pm on! Reservations are strongly recommended to avoid waiting time - upon availability. Many thanks in advance for your understanding!
