I came here with a couple of friends and we enjoyed our time. We made a reservation online there was no issue with that, staff was extremely nice and the food excellent. Prices are in the range compared to other similar restaurants in Vienna. The atmosphere is very Latin and relaxed. I'd recommend to anyone who wants to try Mexican... More

The staff at the bar are very friendly, and can mix really good cocktails. The food I had was good and not to pricey. Went there mainly to drink but had to get some food cause it looked so good.

I have been a couple of times and each time was a sad disappointment. The food is simply not good and far from being authentic Mexican food. It's as if the kitchen is being changed every week, there is never any consistency. However, the staff are usually nice & understanding that their food is subpar. It actually blows my mind... More

After asking our hotel receptionist for a good Mexican restaurant, they recommended we visit Mas. It's a lovely looking restaurant and the staff were very friendly and helpful, we arrived after 10 and although the kitchen was closing soon, they were happy to serve us. Very reasonably priced and very tasty food - Great cocktails here too.

The food is similar to the other texan-mexican restaurants in town, the service is fine and in the summer it is possible to dine on the terrace.

We enjoyed our Mexican dishes at mas! restaurant. We started with a great Mojito and appetizers, followed by delicous fajitas, with the best corn tortillas we have had outside Mexico ;).

The Location itself is really nice and also very Close to the tram No.5 which makes it easy to reach. The waiters were very friendly and also very fast. We booked via Delinski and it worked out very good. The dishes itself very good, maybe not the best Mexican Food I ever ate, but this still very good. I will... More

My friend and I enjoyed a Sunday brunch at Mas yesterday. The food was very good - the omelette with many condiments was delicious. One must watch out that the cook does not add too hots spices as Mexican spices can be quite a challenge. They had delicious salads, breads, desserts - actually everything you could ask for. And leisurely... More

If you come to Vienna for a long period and want to try something spicy and Mexican, then this place is a good choice. It has a very good ambience. Food is tasty and its a good place to chill out. If planning a weekend visit here, better to reserve a table first. I guess this applies for most of... More

This place is good for drinks but not so much for food. The quality of the food on the night we were there was not very good. The food was quite bland in taste and the serving sizes of the condiments like the sauces and dips were tiny. It was certainly not what I would call Mexican food, it was... More

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theatre, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighbourhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicentre. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighbourhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
