We made reservations in advance, but it turns out we didn’t have to. We came for an early dinner and had wonderful time. Soups are delicious, the schnitzel is big and flavorful and the sausage plater is a good choice as well. Of course you...More

I read about this place while planning our trip to Vienna- it was a review of "places to visit" in the city written by an Austrian blogger and Cafe Museum was one of the places she advise to visit. I was so glad I read...More

When in Vienna one has to go to a cafe for Viennese coffee and a pastry. I guess this place is as good as any. I thought the coffee was average, but other people with me thought it was very good. I had apple strudel...More

We ate here three times during a long weekend in Vienna, due in part to the proximity to our hotel. It gets very busy so two people can end up being offered a one-person table but the waiting staff always moved us when larger tables...More

This was our first experience of a traditional Viennese cafe. The guidebook said it was in the top ten, but we were a bit disappointed. Maybe we chose badly as the cakes were bland and we went for the chocotinis instead of a straight coffee....More

People generally complain about how expensive things are in Vienna. I would agree when it comes to the price of the breakfast at most hotels. The best way to breakfast (for me anyway) is to it the Viennese way. Cafe Museaum offers a number of...More

If you need a coffee break go to this place. It is very spacious, so you always have a seat. Get coffee or tea with some cake. The 'apfel strudel' with vanilla saus is really nice. Service is friendly.

This is the second time we have been in Vienna and I was ecstatic, we found this place again. It has an amazing variety of cakes, with quite a few gluten free, and great coffee (I am a coffee snob, so I am told). The...More

From the amazing display of cakes and pastries to the formally dressed waiting staff, this is the real deal. A bit of a Viennese institution, it did not disappoint. We came twice over the the weekend and each time the service was professional, polite and...More

I think it's best to ask when you arrive but I think they might be able to do it upon request.

Café Museum has been a location frequented by many geniuses of the 20th century. Since its inauguration in 1899 it has been a meeting point for painters, writers, composers and architects. Mid 2010 Café Museum was taken over by Berndt and Irmgard Querfeld. The importance of a high level comfort is something the Querfeld family have always been very aware of and therefore they have decided to restore the original Zotti design back to its original glory.
