My husband and I stumbled upon this place while we were in Austria. It has a super authentic atmosphere and would recommend coming here for a "real" experience that is away from all the tourists! We ended up coming here a few times because the food was so good and of such great value.

Small cafe of about 20 tables, mostly small ones, so it gets busy rather quickly. Goulash soup was good. A big bowl, so most will consider it a meal. Sachertorte also good. Menu has about 7 main dishes ( think schnitzels, beef goulash), about 4 soups and a few salads. There are however some good desserts (warm and cold) and about... More

I was recommended this place by a lovely local lady. Very popular with the locals. No touristy feel to it , which was great. Coffee and drinks are good. But I didn't try any food so cannot comment.

Our Frommers guide book recommended Café Korb for its apple strudel and it wasn't wrong. It was warm and delicious. The café was atmospheric and the service was excellent.

We had tried to get into 5 previous Viennese cafes before we came across Cafe Korb, it was obviously a very busy Saturday afternoon for Vienna. We did have to wait for a table but less of a queue than the other cafes. The waiters are dressed up in black ties and they were definitely run off their feet. I... More

Walked past this restaurant and decided to give it a try. Very locals place in the center of the city. MY husband ordered an open face beef sand which and i had the frankfurter. Both were delicious. Great value.

Just around the corner of my hotel, the Cafe Korb is an excellent place to have a nice coffee while reading a newspaper or a book and just watch some locals. Despite being very central, the atmosphere is not so "touristic" inside. Service is Viennese (a little phlegmatic), but nice.

We came across this place by chance, just looking down the side streets away from St Stephens place. The decor is nothing to note, very plain. But the place was busy, had an authentic local menu, and friendly staff. You can get a good, filling dinner for a good price. The toilet signs were quite unusual - you will have... More

We had a delicious lunch here of Weiner Snitzel and Beef Gulasch. The service was friendly and efficient. The ambiance was of a local cafe cum eating house full of Viennese who had wandered in to read the papers, drink a beer with friends, eat lunch or sip tea. It was great - not at all smart, just right. My... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
