Enjoyed our lunch. Good Weiner Schnitzel followed by fresh apricot dumplings. My husband had the Goulash. All washed down with a bottle of Reisling.

You don't go there to be hoiti toiti - you go there to have fun, have very nice wine (Fro German wine it is nice) and absorb the awesome atmosphere. The people friendly, you are in the middle of a fairy tail village, the food is excellent (for a brauhaus). The whole experience is just great. Love going to Grinzing

Grinzing is a little apart from Vienna center. But it costs to go here for best ribs in Vienna! We've been here for several times. Good beer and big portions of ribs. For man is good. But for woman will be little bit oversized. Must try.

Grinzing area is not very active in winter, many places are closed, and the choice is not vast. We walked in the semi dark street and entered Grinzing Brau without any special expectation. It was a great surprise. We were ther for a meal not drinks, and got a cosy corner with a huge table. The best ever leberknodlsuppe (Liver... More

Stopped in to have a beer and some wine at this authentic Austrian brauhaus. Everything was delicious with the Apple strudel being made fresh by the owner.

Very welcome place, with nice dishes. You should try the ribs (even if you wait for 25 minutes) and the beer. We will eat again at there

When you tire of the coldness of Vienna, take a trip to Grinzger, a quaint town about a half hour from the Hofburg. Here you will find a different type of Vienna- a place with more friendly people who even try to smile and laugh! We visited Grinzger Brau twice and were lucky enough to land a table close to... We dropped into this place for lunch while walking around in Grinzing, attracted by nice smell of food. Place was almost empty, so it was quiet and we got all the attention from the staff. The waiter even spoke our language (not too common in Vienna). We really liked food (it was a goose season, so we ate 'everything goose')... More

This place was mostly filled with Viennesse, so not a tourist trap as some in the area are. Good food in a single storey restuarant with effecient staff. Big robust meals that leave you filled up. Great for winter. A short walk from the Grinzing end of the 38 tram.

Staying in Dobling

Neighbourhood Profile
Dobling
Vienna’s poshest green leafy suburb is also its most romantic hotspot. Walk up Grinzinger Strasse with its many historic wine taverns. The tops of nearby Nussberg and Reisenberg hills make for great strolls through the vineyards, and the occasional discovery of a hidden winery. Popular local weekend hangouts are Neustift am Walde with even more great wine taverns, and café restaurant Cobenzl, up on Cobenzl hill – fantastic for great vistas of Vienna. The woodland around Kahlenberg has a wonderful and not too strenuous hiking path - just don't forget the insect repellent. If you have adventurous children, take them to Waldseilpark Kahlenberg (forest rope park Kahlenberg). A must-do if you want a taste of the Vienna Woods is a stop at Josefinenhütte next door with its great food, cosy interiors and wonderful outdoor space.
