I spent an evening there with a friend. Although we didn't have a reservation we got a table in the back room. Food is very special , portions are pretty small so you will for sure have three courses. Good quality and very friends and efficient stuff. If some like this kind of food it's a very nice place. Just... More

We visit Cafe Ansari from time to time to meet friends and to have relaxing time. It has very nice location - close to downtown but "hidden". I like the style and design, service is very friendly and easy. So I do not mind to pay a bit more than usual for the dinner and good feeling. Recommended for romantic... More

Lovely breakfast, great coffee, pleasant staff, art deco interior, including hipster toilets... Place is working early hours as well. They have Baladin craft beers on offer too but at ludicrous rates (6€+ for 0.33).

This is a relaxed restaurant. The restaurant serves excellent food and has an orginal menu. The ambiance is good, friendly staff and a good atmosphere. All with good prices.

We read about this restaurant in a guide book and it turned out to be right by our hotel. We opted to eat here twice rather than in the hotel (bad breakfast experience in The Loft) and loved the ambiance and food in Cafe Ansari. Owned by a Lebanese gentlemen and Georgian lady, their home food influences are found on... More

I think this Cafe is too pricy for what we get. I ordered a tea, and instead of a tea pot i get a small cup with hot water and a tea bag. very disapointing. The Food portions are very small, if you are hugry be ready to spend a lot.

Very good coffee Staff friendly in a low-key way Food was fresh and delicious - I had the Georgian breakfast. A new one for me.... Bill very reasonable I'd eat here all the time if I lived in Vienna. Near the river for a walk beforehand/after - lots of good grafiti murals if you like that type of thing.

We were staying in a nearby apartment and had breakfast and dinner here. The food and ambience are excellent. Booking is a must for dinner and even breakfast on Sundays (the place is that popular!). The menus are interesting (for both breakfast and dinner) and the food is of high quality and beautifully presented.

On our first day in Vienna we depserately tried to find a breakfast cafe. Shouldnt be too hard, right ? Its Vienna after all ! but it proved to be harder than expected... in the end, we accidently found this one, and it is so amazing that we went for breakfast every day, and a couple of times for lunch.... Had a marvelous experience there as summertime is still wonderfull in the City of Vienna. Ansari has a nice out side garden and the road in front has low traffic - so this is really phantastic to enjoy. The food is "cross-ethno" - Georgian kitchen with international influence - very tasty and the quality is good. They offer "sturgeon" and... More

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
