It is nice to sit by the bar's window and watch the people in the center of Vienna. I guess, the location is what we paid for. The cocktails were OK - average, however, the price was high! They charged 14 euros for 1 cosmopolitan.

The waitress completely ignored us as we waited by the door to be seated. She wouldn't even look at us despite walking by us several times. So rude that we ended up spending our money elsewhere. Cafe Am Hof is highly recommended.

Stopped for a quick lunch after visiting St Stephens Cathedral. Good relaxed atmosphere in first floor area with seats looking out over the street. Food (local dishes) and drinks were tasty with friendly service.

After a few hours walking and shopping on a crisp cold afternoon, could not resist the draw of dozens of people enjoying themselves through the large windows, so joined them! Glad we did - only stopped for hot chocolate and some Gugelhupf and couldn't fault either. Service good and price was very reasonable for such a prime site. Note to... More

We went for brunch with a couple of friends. Food was very good, not too expensive. I had the eggs royal, which were very tasty. Nice atmosphere as well. I would return.

Ate here for both a breakfast and evening meal in Feb 2016. Good selection and tasty breakfast. Evening food was stunning, had a lovely cut of beef cooked to perfection. Lovely setting, worth a visit if looking for a quiet place to dine in the city.

We set outside, not on top. Had good wine for reasonable prices. Watch the world go by. They have a good by-the-glass wine selection.

We popped by this chic looking cafe on the way to see some sights and we were very impressed! We had just missed breakfast but the waitress kindly said we could still order from the breakfast menu and was very accommodating and friendly. The food was delicious and reasonably priced too. Highly recommended!

Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
