The location is good. Right in the middle of diverse xmas markets. Food in the pub was - well it did not convince me. I tasted the irish burger - was ok, but could be better. Then i tried some spare ribbs and they were good. The wine was very good, but the serving was ... bad. Bad in general.

The restaurant has a tasty local cuisine, the helpings are very generous and the service is prompt. Limited options for vegetarians.

First time was great service, great food and all in normal waiting times. Second time was absolutely the opposite. We waited 30 minutes for drinks, 45 minutes for a small starter which was incomplete, and another 75 minutes for the main course which was incomplete and the schnitzels were like cardboard. The waiters did their best, but very obviously the... More

We went there after many years. It has been completely refurbished and the restaurant has a fresher look. Service was outstanding, the food well presented but only ok

We went to this restaurant on our last day in Wien. We couldn't explain why but it was almost empty. However, food and beer (I cannot remember if this place was a brewery or not) were good and the owner and his staff quite friendly.

Fine food, always fresh beer. Not a big choice of dishes but good enough to have a dinner and spend some time with your friends chit-chatting.

We stopped here part way through the Christmas market. We were offered the smoking or non-smoking part, which made a change and was nice to go non-smoking. The beer was good and the restaurant was clean. The staff were polite and efficient but nothing special. Glad we stopped there, not sure about food though.

I was at Plutzer Bräu last Friday. We were a group of about 30 people. We had ordered two tables in advance. As we entered the restaurant we were barely able to move. But we got our tables in a very hip room downstairs and got our drinks very fast. But we waited for the food one hour and twenty... More

Staying in Neubau

Neighbourhood Profile
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
