Wien ist anders, Vienna is different. That is what you will hear quite often in this wonderful city. It may be used to explain the wonderful, but also to excuse what is not so wonderful. This restaurant seems to have it all. Splendid location, beautiful interior, great food. And smoke. Sure, there is a non smoking section, but the connection... More

We booked the Restaurant Vestibule for a special birthday, it was an extraordinary evening, the food and service were superb made special by the company of the owner and head chef, Christian Domschitz, we ordered the signature dishes and finished the evening in the bar with a complementary birthday chocolate dessert. A perfect ending to a wonderful city break to... More

Came here having read all the reviews beforehand. We therefore tried the chef's signature lobster and cabbage dish. It was very good, as was the schnitzel. With the lovely bread choices we didn't need dessert, although the options looked very good. My only grumble, if any, was our table was right next to the main door. That took away most... More

All that's great about Austrian food with a sophisticated modern twist. Chef Christian's personal chat at the table made it an even more memorable evening.

This was our second visit to The Vestibul , the previous one was 7 years before and every now and then over those seven years my wife and I would say to one another : " Do you remember the wonderful meal we had at the Vestibul in Vienna when we went there for the Xmas market ? " We... More

The first booked meal of a holiday with my father. Simply outstanding. Service was exemplary. Food had tradition at its heart but a modern interpretation done extremely well. The carp with parsnip, horseradish and sprouts is one of the best plates of food I have eaten. Do not miss this place.

Some restaurant reviews are easy and this is one of them. I'm not going to over complicate it. Food is top notch, the chef's signature dish of lobster with creamed cabbage is brilliant. I let the waiter talk me into the creamed peanut and mandarin dessert and was grateful. The chef/proprietor serves birthday cake, clears tables and is seemingly omnipresent. How... More

Great dinner, great service. And this would be my full review. To add more: I had no reservation, we just popped in the restaurant and were served with love. Would come there again and spend more time with the vine card :)

One of the most amazing meals I gave ever eaten, chosen for us by Chef Christian Domitschz! Four courses of heaven, including the Creamy cabbage and lobster, his speciality, my food fanatic partner was in raptures over each course. The whole team are attentive but discreet and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, both food and wine. The welcome is warm,... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
