I went to the Schwarzen Kameel because the fix lunch menu was Crêpes (Palatschinken) filled with Spinach, a dish I love and since the Schwarzen Kameel has such a good reputation, I was sure not to be disappointed. The ambiance in the lunch section is very Viennese with chic and elegant locals (plus smokers!). My dish was dry and had... More

We did a full dinner here. Food was excellent, service was excellent. It is one of the more expensive dinners you will do in Vienna, but totally worth it. Would go back again anytime!

We came to have a lunch and the service was extremely attentive. Even though it was our first time visiting we were treated very well and almost a bit as if we come once every week. The food was very fresh and good portion size also.

We had dinner on our last night in Austria after a week of skiing.....Since waiting at the airport is not great, we drove into Vienna. The restaurant has a bar next door which is extremely busy (people are even smoking inside...) Luckily the restaurant is seperate and nice & quiet. Looked like people having dinner were afterwards visiting the theatre... More

Looks great, good reviews.... but on the terrace (ok, smokers should have their habitat too) but also in the kind of "tapas bar" when entering it's really breathtaking and shocking for a nonsmoker :( if you manage to pass the smoking zone you'll finally access the vintage style and typical restaurant... seems to be a business choice as the smoking... This is where the foodie locals go, you have the deli for take away or a cafeteria for one of the famous sandwiches or you have the elegant restaurant. We were meeting local friends who suggested this restaurant. If you want to try any Viennese food do it here first, they do the gourmet version. Portions are enough to keep... More

Lovely location and ambience. Stopped in for an afternoon snack of a couple of sandwiches and some beer. Big heated outdoor seating area from which you can watch the world go by.

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
