We came here while our and about and decided to give it a try. The staff were really friendly and spoke good English. The food was fresh and quickly brought out. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed. The beer was cold, the food was good and the staff were great and so very friendly. Would recommend for a quick bite... More

This is the first experience of a Vietnamese restaurant. Not knowing what to expect we were delighted with the whole experience The menu was extensive with some difficult choices as a result. The staff spoke perfect English and were very helpful. Wine was not excessively prices even with the poor rate of exchange. Food was nice and spicy I had... More

I had walked past "Saigon" many times on my way to Naschmarkt, but never stopped to eat there so I was curious to try it out when friends chose it as a venue for our lunch. I had tofu summer rolls (good, but I would have preferred more coriander in the filling), the crispy chicken set lunch and a "Vietnamese... More

We choose this restaurant because it was close to our hotel - Le Meridien after arriving in Vienna at 7am from Armenia. We wanted an early dinner. At 5:30 there was a few other dinners, but it did give me some concern as restaurants are always busy in Vienna. The service was quick - my husband ordered summer spring rolls... More

We needed a quick dinner after a long day; Saigon was both efficient and offered a wide variety of dishes. Most were familiar but some had interesting variations like four types of noodles to choose from. Some deserts were new to us too; the palm cake (Palmkucken) was a good way to end the meal.

We had dinner there on sunday and upon arriving home, me and my child started having diarrhea. My child's diarrhea was not so bad because he ate only a few mouthfuls. Mine was very bad. The food tasted ok, we ordered the seafood fried rice, chicken glass noodles soup and skewered beef rice. We used to patron them very often.... More

Well, we went to the place due to the reviews on trip advisor and I have to say that they were not very accurate. The restaurant itself looks quite nice but the food was very okish. We found it to be a bit blend as the spicy flavours were not that well infused in the dishes. Regardless, the service was... More

The servers here are really on top of it. We mentioned that we didn't have much time and they brought out our food very quickly, as well as the bill. The food was really good too. My husband and I got two different types of egg rolls and we each got a different kind of noodle soup (one chicken and... More

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighbourhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
