We arrived circa 5:30PM without a reservation and were cheerfully accommodated. It was quiet, but within 1/2 an hour, the ground floor was packed, all German speaking, so I'm presuming this restaurant is popular with locals, coming from work. The service was top notch and the food was wonderful. Viennese home cooking I'd say: a perfect antidote to the hotel... More

A friend took me to this address and we have not been disappointed. First, the restaurant is old and we feel, we see the history of the place. Second, there is a large choice in the menu of Vienna style food. No hamburger in this restaurant 😉 Third, and it could be better, the service is a bit too fast.... More

1)The menu had enough of a selection for everyone, lacking in a bit of creativity but then again it is focused on traditional cuisine, 2) food was brought promptly- good sized portions and tasty, 3) wine was equally good. I found there could have been a bit more diversity in the desert choices. Now, I realize we had our reservation... More

My colleague arranged the meal for our conference. 50+ people. For service that is never easy but the staff worked very hard to accommodate us all. Beer is expensive in comparison to other local countries but affordable. The Haus Bier was really tasty and much better than 'popular brands!' I had the Wiener Schnitzel and potatoe salad for my main... More

Schnitzel is excellent, but have it the Viennese way with potato salad and not with cranberries. All the food there is very good, it is always packed but they will find you a seat. It is frequented mainly by locals with only the odd tourist. I have been there a few times and it is always good and the service... More

We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance. Once we were inside we knew right away we had made a right decision. Full of locals, nice decoration, warm and pleasant atmosphere. Waiters were also nice and found us a table right away eventhough it was pretty packed. The menu is very austrian( i have to say we had to google nearly... More

A little out of the way, but a great traditional restaurant. One of the best wiener schnitzel I ate in Vienna til now.

Gmoakeller was good, and very convenient to the Symphonie. Mostly locals and families. There was a very limited selection of draft beer but surprisingly they had an Anchor Go West! IPA that I have never seen in the US! They have a really nice veal Schnitzel, and because of my family history Leberknoedel always makes me smile. Have the Schnitzel... More

the location is unspectacular opposite the Viennese Akkademietheater but worth a visit it is a typical old styje restaurant and there is an upper level and a basement (more to my liking) both offer very good and typical Viennese food with an international touch

We were lucky to get a last minute reservation in the downstairs (i.e. Cellar) of the restaurant. Our concierge apologized but it was actually still very nice. The upstairs definitely looked more traditional. We shared a lovely St Laurent reserve bottle ( local red) that paired perfectly with the goose liver and goose leg that we shared. Good value and...
