Went to this place because convenient location, and was recommended by the hotel. Simple, gemutlich, good value Austrian dishes and booze. I enjoyed my winerschnitzel so much the first night I went back for another the next day. Staff friendly and service efficient.

This is a very popular place so call to book ahead if you wish to go. The waiters were really nice and friendly and very efficient. We both had traditional Austrian meals which were lovely and I had some of the house wine which was...More

I've been in this restaurant with some friends. We have had typical Austrian food, and it was good (maybe a bit too salty). Nevertheless, I do not feel to recommend this place beacuse of its very bad staff. Waiters are rude and - in particular...More

We decided to try Purstner given the positive reviews here on Tripadvisor, but we were very disappointed, by far our worst meal in Vienna. Only the appetizers can be saved. We ordered a steak and spare ribs, both dishes were grossly overcooked and horribly seasoned....More

We started with the Viennese beef soup, which was ok. For dinner we ordered the spare ribs and pork medallions with dumplings. Both were excellent. We would consider coming back.

Enjoyed a dinner here, wonderful hearty portion of spätzle with generous glass of wine. I liked the food and the interior, but I wish the waiters had been a bit more friendly.
