Two of us went here once for dinner and once for lunch. For dinner, the service was quick but friendly and attentive. The waiter spoke really good english. We both had the bow-tie pasta with cheese and ham - quite simple but really well made - comfort food. We also shared 'Granny's Dumplings' - quite an odd pudding, but also... More

The brunch (all you can eat buffet) is really good and for a very moderate price, since they also offer orange and multivitamin juices. Good selection of bread, hams, cheese, fruits, sausages, eggs, salmon, croissant, waffles...and so on. The place is usually full so it is better to book a table.

The brunch buffet is definitely very good, with many options of both savory and sweet stuff. Unfortunately, however, the management try to fill as much as possible the tables of the restaurant, making the already limited space extremely uncomfortable for those looking to enjoy a relaxing morning with a good meal. The place becomes overcrowded, extremely busy around the buffet... More

We had arrived in Vienna in the afternoon. A mooch at the flea market. My husband's birthday. We came across Salzberg, there on a corner. From the moment we walked it, it had that lovely feel of "glad I'm here!" Johannes served us with great charm. He suggested a wine which was delicious. I whispered that it was my husband's... More

Went for brunch and all four meals were delicious. Traditional Viennesse food done very well, the side salads were as good or better than the mains. €18 will cover a decent sized meal and drinks.

We had a sunday brunch in this restaurant and it was very good. They offer various kinds of cheese and ham. When we first arrived there was a whole salmon on the buffet but later on they cleaned its bones and served as filets also. Their bacons were very good. Also I liked the idea of making my own waffle... More

A great place for brunch with wide selection of different snacks. It may be sensible to book a table, since the place is well visited.

On Friday, we wanted to book for 3 for Brunch but couldn't get a place. Trying our luck, on Saturday we were just 2, and got a table just by passing by. The brunch is incredibly varied, from salted to sweet, really anything you might wish for, for 18 Euros. Coffee is in addition. Food is absolutely top. We were... More

We went here for dinner prior to going to a concert and got there really early. To start with the service was fine but then a very large party came in (don't know whether they were pre-booked or not) and the staff just could not cope: drinks forgotten, didn't offer us the dessert menu and although we started off with... Staying in Mariahilf

Neighbourhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
