The Yellow caught my eye during a shopping trip and as I am always interested in Asian food, I went there. They offer Asian food and adjust their menu to the seasons. Maybe my expectations were too high, but the restaurant did remind me of a train station, although the waiter tried very hard to make up for this. The... More

First of all, the decor is really ugly, small tables, plastic chairs, strange toilets etc .... The food Asian and is not bad, the service a bit clumsy, though the staff is really friendly. It is suitable for quick lunch during work day. A romantic dinner here would be a big mistake.

Easy to find, spartan interior but nice resturant. Very good food, good size potions. Will visit again.

Lovely meal. We both went for chefs recommendations. Duck was a bit over cooked. Amazing decor. Have never seen an interior like it.

We love this place. Some say the interior is too cool and sterile. We think it's modern and way better than most Asian restaurants. The kitchen serves Asian fusion cuisine. We especially love the currys from India, Thailand or Vietnam.

This place was right next door to our hotel The Leonardo so we popped if for dinner one evening and really enjoyed the food, top marks. Served quickly too but there weren't many of us in there

The food is not bad actually but this is one of the weirdest places I have been to in Vienna. The decor is terrible in my opinion and it is not very clean - I spotted a couple of spider-nets here and there. Not a place for a romantic dinner, and certainly not for a family lunch either.

Yes, like everybody else states, the decor is odd, but that doesn't take away from the quality and taste of the food they offer. Had a great meal and the service is spot on. Recommend if you're in the area.

The restaurant delivers very good Asian food in a modern simplistic reduced atmosphere. Friendly service. Absolutely worth the visit.

An usually creative Asian-Fusion menu nearly makes up for the bizarrely sterile, modern-yet-morgue-like decor - not at all helped by the whole 'yellow' theme. Still, the food is tasty enough to merit a visit - I'm still dreaming about their Green Tea Tiramisu.

Neighbourhood Profile
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
