A must visit even if don't really enjoy drinking beer, just to admire the breadth of choice. This is THE place to taste any Norwegian beer from tap!

We'd spent a fabulous week driving around northern Norway and, having given our camper van back, I fancied a beer or two. Our hotel was nearby and, having checked on TripAdvisor, we decided to head for the Ølhalle. What a fantastic array of interesting Norwegian...More
If you get to Tromso you must go to Macks Beer Hall. Just don't go with a guided tour. It's really easy to find. Straight along the main street and opposite the brewery. Go by yourselves and soak in the atmosphere - and the beer!...More
We were hoping to have a nice lunch with several beers here. But found out that there was lots of beer but no cooked food, only packaged snacks. Great beer selection, decent atmosphere, good service. Quite disappointing. Not sure how how they stay in business....More

As written, this is a nice pub with a great interior. The point of the review is to recommend the Mack Bayer. It's a mild beer with a reduced after taste that offers the possibility of having another and not becoming stuffy.
Thoroughly recommend this place. Such a great range of beers and ales with a menu to help you pick. Décor is a mix between an English pub and a Norwegian taxidermist. Great service and an excellent atmosphere.
