The Statholdergården exudes the flair of a hundred years past. If you come as a group, you get a short history of the building. We had a 5 course dinner which was excellent. I ordered vegetarian option in advance and it was very good. Kind...More

Located in an older building and with a mature and distinguished maitre'd, the general ambience is of another, older era. The food, some tasty, some not, is, however, of the modern-day ilk -- sensationally presented and tasting unsensational. Wine list was extensive and the meal...More

The food was wonderful and the setting lovely. The old home was recently painted and the frieze on the ceiling and decorative scrolling was memorable. As the wait staff took away one course the next plate was immediately brought until we asked them to slow...More

I'm not so concerned about halal. The citchen is typically French, and I do not think they put too much emphasis on halal. Your question is best answered directly from the establishment.

Description
One of the finest gourmet restaurants in Oslo, located in a 17th-century building in the old city centre. The ceiling has some of the finest stucco work in Northern Europe. The chef, Bent Stiansen, won the prestigious chef championship Bocuse d'Or in 1993. Order from the à la carte menu or try the six-course menu of the day. The menu is composed of the best ingredients available at the time Stiansen uses high-quality Norwegian ingredients, coloured by European tradition. Chambre separée for 8-24 persons. In the basement you find the more informal Statholderens Krostue, which is open for both lunch and dinner.
