The most vile chips I have ever tasted, old , cold and burned!! Do not chance your luck here. Go over the road to Harry ramsden's. I had to throw them away as they were completely inedible .. shocking !!!

I'm from the seaside, visiting the seaside I expect good home cut proper chippy chips! I can only assume these are frozen chips. The whole bag probably cost less than what they charge a portion. I should've known better & gone to a less touristy spot. But then why wouldn't you be the best chippy you can be in such... More

Visited this place for lunch. All I can say is that it was awful. Firstly, the fish and chips "to eat in" are served on a polystyrene tray, with plastic forks, the bread roll came wrapped in its own little bag with a day sticker on it, either, indicating the day it was made or the day it was past... I am a local and do regularly enjoy visiting The Chippy on the Pier. My last visit was Wed 2/11/16 and I write this review always in relation to my experience on the day. I ordered x1 Small Battered Sausage and a Small Portion of Chips for myself, along with x1 Heinz Tomato Ketchup Sachet (you twist the top off... More

Popped into the chippy for a light bite :) Only ordered chips but The chips were tasty and crisp. You could tell they're frozen but they're still good!!! Gotta have loads of vinegar!!! :D The curry sauce is good with the chips too. Yum!!! The servers are nice, always friendly and helpful. The interior could be made a bit more... More

Fish and chips on a pier should be a treat, particularly on a very hot sunny day. this was not the case at Chippy on the Pier. What a huge disappointment to find that the fish was battered and frozen and also the chips were frozen. Would definitely not recommend. Not sure where there are fish and chips in Eastbourne... Not much to say really!! Just awful chips! Myself and my husband were really looking forward to a nice portion of chippy chips, that is not what we got!! Frozen rubbish! Really gutted!! Best to avoid!

I don't get how the south fail so often in producing good quality fish and chips. Especially on the coast. The haddock I had today was pretty dry, thin and terrible quality especially for the price. The fish fillet had been shown the bucket of batter rather then dipped in it, the edge of the fish was overcooked and the... More

During our visit to the Pier we decided to have fish and chips as you do at the seaside. My son wanted saveloy but unfortunately they had run out and was told it was what you see or cod. We had 2 x cod and chips which came to £11.00 so not bad value. Tasted great and freshly cooked. Seating... More
